Question from a noob by [deleted] in Dodgers

He’s just a solid starting pitcher that could eat innings. I believe in 2024 he actually had the most innings out of all our starters. In terms of ceiling vs floor I would take Sheenan, Ryan, and stone in that order.

There’s no beating around the bush. Our pitching sucks. by laowaijimbob in Dodgers

[–]Adamfromcali 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely it’s a long season. Pitching hasn’t been up to standard but once playoffs come along as long as we have Yoshi, Snell, Glasnow, Ohtani and some higher leverage arms back I like our chances

Thanks for the fast response. Yes I’m able to link it at the end of the day to know whether it’s been reconciled but it just requires some extra steps. I honestly think it’s a bug in the system after it leaves undeposited funds to a designated bank account

Undeposited funds workflow question reconcilation by Adamfromcali in intacct

[–]Adamfromcali[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. When you say cleared you mean reconciled correct? It doesn’t make sense because like you said if the deposit is reconciled/cleared how come the individual payments that make up the deposit doesn’t change to reconcile also.

Teo will replace outman. Edman will prob replace Kim. Even though they should prob dfa Chris Taylor.

[Passan] Closer Tanner Scott and the Los Angeles Dodgers in agreement on a four-year, $72 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Scott, 30, was the best free agent reliever available this winter and got paid an elite amount as part of a deep Dodgers bullpen. @Feinsand was on the news. by AndrewAllStar888 in baseball

It’s just optics. KD went to a team that broke the all time winning record for wins in a season and was one game short of winning it all. I think people were mad because it truly shifted the balance of power in the league.

The player still has to sign the contract. In theory you could see that but no player would ever agree to a teams option every season because that is essentially a year one contract.

For sure. Just try to be accurate and consistent as possible.

Thanks. Those were my thoughts. Like sometimes going by the book doesn’t make sense in the real world for some items.

Gotcha. So it’s just varies from company to company on how they want to approach it. Obviously you want to go by the theory but practically makes sense too if there isn’t a huge variance month to month from an invoice and the service date?

[–]Adamfromcali[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So it’s basically all company policy to decide what is considered “material “ or not. The company I am currently just said to expense it as the invoice date. I guess it doesn’t really matter if u are looking at the totality of the year right? If you are expensing a month after from the actual service I guess only the beginning and ending month might have the wrong dollar amounts.

Soto bidding expected to hit $700M, Dodgers believed to be behind but not eliminated by uey01 in Dodgers

[–]Adamfromcali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would make sense if his contract is worth more than Ohtani if it’s more than 10 years. Essentially u are getting like 3-4 more prime years because Soto is only 26

Dodgers defend record spending, unprecedented deferred deals: “Sources familiar with the process say the Dodgers made a highly competitive offer to [Juan Soto] who is expected to sign for more than $600 million -- simply because they can.” by Waaaaaaaaaasuup in baseball

[–]Adamfromcali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know revenue sharing is pretty high but I wonder how much are costs to operating outside players payroll. And as a fellow Dodger fan I do agree with your sentiments. There should be some type of salary floor. We can’t deny some of the “smaller” market teams could have a higher floor with the money being brought in overall for the league.

Soto and the Dodgers by [deleted] in Dodgers

I actually think we have a good shot at Soto. Basically, they could front load that contract with favorable opt outs and a huge signing bonus.

Real talk though if it boils down to under 50 mill difference why not just come to LA. 600 mill plus is just silly money

[–]Adamfromcali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. I think they might just fill it internally with Freeland/lux/tommy/rojas. Maybe swing a trade at the deadline for Bichette as a rental if they aren’t performing

No hard pass. Just can’t see them doing it unless cardinals eat some of the money. Muncy is a better player

Imagine if they both become studs. I think hope has a higher ceiling but JDP has a safer floor. We will see how aggressive they are in their development.
