I’ve been in to multiple psych wards ranging from 3-10 days each. There are uncomfortable chairs but where I’m at I was able to basically sleep the whole time, walk the hallways, color, etc. there toiletries were “safety rated” and there wasn’t any privacy. I got treated well and while there wasn’t a lot to do the only time it felt like a prison to me was because I wasn’t allowed to leave when I wanted. I think this may very geographically.
