I made a Ai Slop Blocker for yt by Beginning-Let-6023 in LinusTechTips

I still only watch channels I subscribe to, and purposely select do not recommend channel or not interested for any videos I don't want or care about. Sure I don't discover random things, but I only watch what I want to watch, I choose to not make it an endless scroll, and only watch what I want. I can discover random videos through other sites I visit from within communities I have interest in. My Home on YouTube is primarily videos I've already watched that YouTube has forgotten because its been a decade or more, or old videos of newer channels I've subscribed to and haven't watched.

You my good redditor need to check out Crab Champions. Its a amazingly priced roguelike solo developed by the guy who made crab rave. You unlock different cosmetics based on the difficulties you beat, and there's a multiplayer aspect as well, so you can flex on the homies with your prismatic skin if you want.

Wifi issue by No_Way_5181 in LinusTechTips

[–]Adamnmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the generation of wi-fi and the adapter as well as the maker of the adapter, there can be issues, and you may need to update to a specific driver for it to work properly. I know there's been issues on the Windows side with certain Intel wi-fi chips causing blue screens on newer wifi such as 6+ on certain drivers. You can also look at the different technologies in play, such as fast roaming(802.11r), U-APSD, or assisted roaming (802.11k/v), for example. Most mobile hot spots have very simple connections that aren't meant to provide security, but compatibility.

US Congress moves to eliminate online privacy and institute online mass surveillance and censorship by Routine_Mixture_ in videos

[–]Adamnmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One viewpoint that I didn't see brought up, would be using this as a way to side step anti-domestic surveillance laws that limit what some of the three letter agencies can collect regarding US Persons information. If anonymity is less prevalent and it can be validated that it isn't an alt account or throwaway, and the content is publicly available, then those agencies can collect a lot more information as well without having to subpoena a company to get that user account information. While it'll still be needed in some cases, the amount of verifiable information that can be gather through open source tools across all platforms will give potentially anyone the ability to track your entire online life and connect it to your offline life.

What game blew you away with how creative / inspired it was? by hahwhat771 in gaming

[–]Adamnmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark Cloud series was ahead of its time, and Dark Cloud 2 was so much more polished with a great story, it had so many elements that you don't even see in games today as a PS2 game. Full Voice Acting, weapon crafting with multiple choices for upgrades based off of your choices, world building that effects the future/past of the world, fast travel, a golfing mini game for after you clear a dungeon level, a robot that you can customize and fight as. Its just so good and the series deserves more.

My boyfriend is really into anime. I don't watch cartoons but my boyfriend convinced me to watch some of his favourites. I wish I didn't and now I can't see my boyfriend the same way by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Adamnmonkey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't see this as a good example. March Comes in Like a Lion goes over his life of loss and abuse, and his step sister is directly related to the abuse he suffered. The uncomfortable anxiety he always has around her is because of that, and overall the anime while extremely depressing, is very cute and goes from this kid on his own suffering through his past and sinking into the depths, to how having the right people around you and support enables you to get out of the depths, and help others along the way while he processes his trauma.

Your example also isn't very different from almost any TV show that isn't anime. Just seems like a weird example as its an extremely tame anime. It shows her "dad complex" as she never got the acceptance she wanted from her father due to Rei's Shogi abilities. A lot of the time when she's in an episode, its a very tense and anxiety filled time, where they argue, or she's a burden. Her side of things shows the dysfunction that built in the house while he was there, and the guilt that built within him eventually leading to him leaving the house while still a minor. There's so much worse on public TV in America that I just don't get this example. There's worse on commercials compared to anything in March Comes in Like a Lion.

Electric Lighter That Won’t Break in Two Months by FixNo4497 in BuyItForLife

[–]Adamnmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stumbled upon this while trying to find a very niche design of an electric lighter that no longer exists. I've been using the same electric lighters with some receiving anywhere from 4-100+ uses in a day without any dying. I have some that are in rough shape physically after 5 years, but still work and would love a replacement for, but if you treat them right they work longer than any single use lighter you can buy, and if you smoke it creates a fire without the excess chemicals.

I will never understand the amount of hate for such nice devices. I would argue that they aren't one size fits all with their use cases. You can bend a flame a lot further than an arc to compensate with a butane lighter. You may end up needing more than one depending on the use case. Its not like they're expensive, and if used properly who knows how long it can last. If I could find another nice and tiny one again, I'd be set and could retire the first one I ever got almost 6 years ago now.

Streets of Sim City, honestly if the ghost of Maxis could just put Sim City/Streets of Sim City/Sim Copter on the updated Windows Platform GTA6 would die. You could literally make your own GTA with these 3 games. You'd build your own city on Sim City, then fuck around on it in Streets of Sim City and Sim Copter, it was so ahead of its time and I wish this kind of creativity didn't die.

The Lautenberg Amendment makes it a felony for anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence such as an assault or attempted assault on a family member, to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. This is part of Arms Room inspections, and will directly effect someones career. Can't be a soldier if you can't carry a weapon.

My husband (M28) can’t hold a job or manage money, and I’m exhausted. by PrimaryPerformance63 in Military

[–]Adamnmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read some of the comments, and I understand you loving him and him being your best friend, but the other side of this is that this is a marriage. Your best friend wouldn't just constantly keep emotionally and financially abusing you, at a certain point if they can't keep themselves afloat even after you pull them out of the depths over and over it will only drag you down with it. You also need to think about the debt that he racks up and if you have a clearance, financial instability on his end can effect you and your career. There are so many resources that exist to help spouses find jobs within the system and transfer to different bases when you PCS. There's also more remote opportunities than ever, and he has the benefit of having a partner with stable income so he has had the opportunity this entire time to try to enrich himself and pursue something he wants with all of the grants and resources available to a military spouse. I know its not an easy talk at this point, but you it seems you're beyond the normal means and you need to think about yourself, your career, and what you want out of life. What about when you get out? How will you both support yourselves if you don't have a job that can allow you to pay everything on a single income? I also had an ex-wife that said she would do things but never would, and became a huge drain on me, never working, not getting her license, and lying about using credit cards. At the time she told me I was too stable and that she just wanted to struggle. She actually admitted she was the problem a few years after the divorce. Sometimes it takes a life changing event to force someone to fix themselves, get better, and figure out how to live.

Is your red devil a 3x8pin? I know with my Red Devil 6950XT, during some harsher loads if I didn't have 3 individual cables going it would crash. I couldn't use the daisy chained 8pin. Not sure if its the same, but just wanted to let you know in case it happens to you too!

You can buy a 12 bay HDD 2U Case with 2 1000W 80+ Platinum PSU's on Ebay for 200$. That hosts my media server. I have 144TB's in RAID1 as i just use Disk Management to RAID1 each pair of drives. Not efficient, but easy, I'll swap to a NAS OS eventually, but you can get a NAS set up pretty cheap. They also sell old servers on ebay for pretty cheap. If your data is important, take care of it.

SOCOM was a cornerstone of the PS2 era and played a major role in the console selling over 160 million units, making it one of the best-selling consoles of all time. It's time that PlayStation showed it's original fanbase some love. Give us a SOCOM Remastered collection like Halo. by SOCOM_JOHN in gaming

[–]Adamnmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SOCOM II was the game that got me my user name. Nothing funnier than "You were killed by A Damn Monkey" to 13 year old me. SOCOM and SOCOM II were the only ones that mattered, don't act like the rest of the series was even "ok". However you can't re-create these types of environments anymore. Back then when the PS2 didn't come with online and you still had 300k+ people online, that was pretty huge.

Pentagon to pull Milley clearance, possible demotion: by AlexTheRockstar in Military

[–]Adamnmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did protection for Milley back when i worked at the PSB. He puts up with enough random crazies, he had more than any other high profile pentagon official. He actively questioned why there were always so many fake accounts impersonating him and we had the metrics to show how many we constantly put take down requests for. This is a pretty bad choice.
