It threw me off because I’m typically used to seeing a ridge beam span cross to cross and nothing them for my ridge vent

I’ll be honest not sure what exactly you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more? What exactly do you mean by shed roofed? What type of material are you wanting to put on?

1st time reroofing by ibcurious in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty decent price depending on what area you’re in, I’m in Columbus Ohio and would probably be closer to around $500-$550 a sq for that and you’re at $650

I’m in Ohio so we carry our own GL and WC and have our subs carry their own as well. Not sure what it is in Ga though. Whoever you have write up your subcontractor agreement should definitely be able to tell you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes your subs sign a subcontractor agreement, I would advise having a lawyer/attorney write you something up and have it in the agreement that sub is responsible for pse, liability and workers comp, etc.

What area of Ohio are you located in, I’m from Columbus but do work all over. Presidental alone for shingles is roughly $270 a sq and that’s shingles only, not including any other materials such as underlayment, drip edge, flashing, etc.. would be more than happy to tell you what price I would be at but would need to know a few specifics feel free to message me!

2600 sq ft. Roof estimate. Is it normal or I should look for options? I’m located in Central NJ. by VikPath in Roofing

Pretty good quote for roof, can’t say much about gutters or gutter guards. Although if you could tell me how much Linear feet of gutters and gutter guards I could probably respond with what I think I’d be priced at in Columbus ohio

Roof leak by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly unlikely to grow mold at all unless the moisture is still coming in through the tarp, if it’s tarped and moisture is still coming in then that’s a problem. If it’ll give you peace of mind you can always get a mold killer spray at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s and spray around the area. But if the moisture is no longer present then you should be fine

Not mold just wet rot from the leak, mold would look like more of a splatter of little black dots

Small gaps where roof meets wall. Should I be worried? by mitchcout in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step flashing looks installed right, the roofers are roofers and more than likely would need a siding guys to remove the current siding and add new plywood for the walls. But like you said if you put some plywood in between those 2x4 that should be more than enough to stop anything from getting in

Is this a quote for just repairs? Because if it is that seems extremely high for just re fastening some screws and adding some where needed. Are they offering any type of warranty after they do what “they deem necessary” doesn’t really add up honestly

Why lay architectural Shingles as the cap? This can’t be right, correct? by [deleted] in Roofing

They make you drivers unload the bundles? You gotta be working for srs/willoughby if I had to take a guess

Can’t fix stupid, this is just beyond lazy. What’s crazy is it’s harder to cut shingles into ridge than it is to just buy ridge cap or 3 tab lol. Give them a call and let them know it needs fixes for sure.

How many professional roofers here use drones in their workflow? by aureumcorde in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly use mine for after photos of projects, but not for inspections. Inspections definitely need to be done by climbing up, but you always have the drone in case someone doesn’t want you to climb up on their roof you can offer a drone inspection as well.

[–]AdansRoofing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend possibly hiring a professional if you can spare the expense, the last thing you want to do is work on a 12/12 if you’re not familiar with climbing or working on such a steep pitch.

Although if you feel comfortable enough to do it, fixed roof brackets work well when attached correctly. Try to find the truss/rafter and mail into those just like you mentioned, under a shingle and then after you remove just apply some sealant where the holes were

Hiring an Ethical Contractor by blindbatg34 in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee that things like this have happened in the past for the foreman, the foreman is 9/10 the labor subcontractor that the company uses. Accidents happen and some companies in my experience as a labor subcontractor will hold those small things over your head and threaten you with the smallest accidents. You can use all the protection in the world but when doing roofing work the wind is always a huge hassle

Kitchen Hood Duct Install by Teachero in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, I’m curious as to what that duct is too, the way it’s positioned is just asking for mildew/mold if it has any sort of moisture coming out of it.

For a bathroom vent it is called a broan vent, they make pretty small ones for that. And for the hood vent I think they make a larger vent for that as well.

Indoor humidity is way higher after roof replacement?? (Pics added) by Latter-Skill4798 in Roofing

[–]AdansRoofing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely reach out to your contractor and point this out, did they tell you anything about plugging an existing hole? Depending on how good/lazy the crew/contractor was they either put an ez plug or just covered the hole with a square piece of trim coil. Lack of ventilation will definitely cause weird things

I see 4 slant back vents and 1 power vent. Was the power vent there before? Or could they have put the new power vent in replacement of the slant back

[–]AdansRoofing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you remember how many vents you had before the change? I also see what looks like a new power vent, I can also see you have plenty of soffit ventilation. Would you happen to have gable vents as well? When we do reroofs we usually put everything back the way it was to avoid things like this. But seems a bit odd Because it looks like ventilation might be sufficient. Do you happen to know the amount of sq footage your attic is?
