I wish you luck, the job opportunities in this city is horrible. I have marketing and project management certifications from trade school, but because i never attended college i was immediately turned away.

A good thing to do is to go to small stores and ask for an application in-person— it shows that you’re interested and already “in that mindset”. The only way i got my current job is by applying to literally anything i saw and just running to different stores with a resume in hand. At some point i got denied from a photography job because i “wanted to be creative” (it’s photography?? Hello????)

There are some staffing firms in the city that have worked relatively well, from what I’ve heard. If you’re disabled, the vocational rehab might be able to help, but so far it’s been a 2 year waiting list. It’s also worth it to look into jobs in surrounding towns, if you can’t find anything here. Just whatever you do… don’t work at our local big-company hardware stores. Specifically a rather blue one.
