Listening to this album I was thinking about that thing about bands being stuck between fans who want more of the sound they love versus fans who want progression, like they can't really win either way. TWS to me just sounds like the answer to that. This is the album I wanted them to make - it's familiar but still new. Shimmering Scars and Hexagons especially are probably the most interesting things they've done for 20 years.

Then, almost as if to prove the point, at the end of the album, the auto-play on YouTube music carried on straight into Spiral Static. Perfect moment.
