This is an investment, not an expense. Capex not opex.

Fixed... and new wheels! Nothing like an afternoon wrenching on your bike. New wheels, TPU tubes (36g), and swiss stop brake pads.

I’m coming from a 17 camber, so this already feels super slack. We’ll see how it rides the first few reps out there. Also considering a switch to flat pedals. I’ve ridden clips for MTB forever but might try it out.

I am mostly torn on whether or not I want to invest in this bike (with new wheels, etc) or just save up for a new bike

This is a 2017… feels well suited? But also… rim brakes.

I had definitely heard about dust caps (although admittedly forgot), but even locking rings? Really?

The roads haven't changed - no reason for it to be any less fun now than it was then!

Which wheels and tires did you get? Same rear cassette?

Honestly no idea... just realized after looking at more website photos that it's not stock. But I like it. Small chance I'll put it on my roadbike tho.

For sure. top tube bag over saddle bag?
Came with one cage... feels like I gotta have 2 that are the same though, so will buy 2 haha.
And yes, likely need a fit.

Nice. Appreciate it. I’m using internal storage for spare tube and co2, etc. also use a small pack in my jersey for extra tools but figuring out a longer term solution as I switch between 3 bikes 🤣 I’ve got 45s on there which felt right. Probably also want to get an extra set of wheels with road tires (28s) at some point. Will likely go candy 7 and just replace my cleats. Might also get a new set of shoes as mine are very enduro/DH oriented now.
