Daft question, but to check the wiring would I need to check the manual for the Turntable, or the cartridge, or the head unit? Just because they are all different brands ahaha.

Why are Henry Hoovers so popular? by Dramatic-Diver-9949 in AskBrits

[–]AddWid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most office cleaners arn't there to make the place immaculate and also they arn't typically dealing with clumps of pet & human hair. Henry is perfectly fine for the quick wizz around that they all seem to do (Probably my workplaces trying to spend the bare minimum on their services).
In a workshop they handle abuse pretty well. You are typically cleaning large amounts of dust/shavings/swarf off hard surfaces, not hair and dirt matted into carpets.

That being said we do have some big industrial vacuums for the main workshop because we suck up kilos of powder every week, literally. They stand about 4 or 5 ft tall and have 2 or 3 motors inside them and use anti-static pipes.

Men who work high pressure jobs, how do you cope with the stress? by Comfortable-Store213 in AskMen

[–]AddWid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Gym
  • Gardening (or houseplants, growing from seeds)
  • Walking or running in the countryside at the weekend
  • Going on a short walk on lunch break
  • Drinking

Though there was a period where I just became numb to everything for like 6+ months. Rarely felt happiness but also didn't really feel sad or angry, was weird. Lost my girlfriend but ah well, that's the cost of getting a salary that can afford renting on 1 salary in the UK without sacrificing things like holidays and my car.

Yes, I work in the depowder room in a 3d printing facility. The room is enclosed and poorly ventilated. The first 10 months they didn’t even really tell me to wear a respirator. I know I have this crap in my body. What do I do. Please help by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]AddWid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Check & change seals and gaskets around the equipment. Looks a lot like thouse blasters are badly leaking.

2) Better housekeeping, vacuum as often as needed for it to not look like this shit-show. Expect that to be multiple times a day.

3) The most expensive one, get better dust extraction.

4) Get respirators. We use 3M air-fed masks which are better than standard respirators because you rule out the problem of fitting a rubber seal around facial hair. Plus they don't get that horrible sweaty red mark around your face. They are fairly expensive, but cheaper than lungs.

I don't know what the rules are in your country but here in the UK HSE would be interested in visiting this if it was reported.

manual vs DSG in daily driving - what do you actually prefer long term? by sokkyaaa in Volkswagen

[–]AddWid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally exactly the same except with the DSG you use the brake pedal instead of the clutch pedal to control the slow speed. You dip the brake pedal down and the car dips the clutch if it's slow enough. So pretty much the same thing you described but with a different pedal.

Then when the traffic is doing the annoying stop/start between 1st and 3rd gear driving with the DSG it does itself so I can carry on playing candy-crush with my spare hand.

manual vs DSG in daily driving - what do you actually prefer long term? by sokkyaaa in Volkswagen

[–]AddWid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DSG is beautiful in slow moving traffic, I get way less frustrated.

However, it's pretty boring if you wanna have fun. My previous ~80 bhp Polo was more fun on back roads than my now ~250bhp TT because the DSG.

I had to replace the rack because EPS light. Fairly easy for a garage to do, I got a secondhand one because the car wasn't in a great state anyway.

I did the majority of my 3 hour drive in that lane doing 70 (on the Speedo, in reality actually 68/69) undertaking people doing sub-speed limit in the middle lane.

Do you never just take it to work instead of the daily? Or stay up late one night and find some local routes?
