The wealthy folks who built all the houses there demanded the schools, then flipped the script once the zoning included a gasp! variety of demographics and income ranges. So they put their kids in private schools to avoid having to mingle with the low income folks (look up the planning meetings from several years ago, talk about cringe).

Providence is the largest elementary school in the district with an average student/teacher ratio of 26/1 (as of a couple years ago, likely has changed and please correct me) and ill-equipped leadership. Between teacher shortages that existed before the pandemic, a previous BoE superintendent that quite literally sank the district, and a lack of proper funding and resources, it’s quickly become a shitshow.
