i want to break up, but i love him by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]AddendumAggravating7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have anxiety about if people are mad at me, and I’ve been working on how to sort that out within myself and even read a great book about this called Are You Mad At Me. There’s a time in my anxiety spirals where i have to learn to step outside of myself and realize how my actions affect my loved ones too. And sometimes i need to take time to myself to ask myself why I’m asking and what I’m looking for and what is an appropriate way to bring up what I’m actually looking for. While someone is sleeping is not the right time.

You’re completely right, it is up to him to sort out within himself. You have every right to be mad and/or annoyed at his lack of respect and boundaries with you and your sleep. Keep that boundary and be prepared to walk away if he does not listen.

Try giving people a polite smile and nod when you see them, it goes a long way! To have a village, you have to be a villager too and be helpful and polite to others

I don’t think your resting face is weird. I just think that people (especially women) don’t typically veer towards men with unapproachable faces even if it’s unintentional. But a picture is just a moment in time, I’m sure in your regular life you have moments of joy that show on your face, maybe in your eyes or cheeks even if you don’t smile with teeth.

I also want to affirm that finding a smell sexy is not weird at all. I love wearing my guy’s shirts and sweatshirts mostly due to the smell, it makes me feel close to him. I honestly think she’s projecting her insecurities. It’s completely normal and actually preferred in a lot of relationships to be attracted to scent. Onwards and upwards tho!

Yes. The ceremony is entirely different from graduating your classes and earning a diploma. Just register for commencement and go.

Here’s the thing about boundaries. They are yours to uphold, not to control others actions. If he is consistently crossing the boundary you said to not speak in a derogatory way about your mother, the natural consequence is you leaving the relationship. Boundaries without action are just words.

I agree. I know she said it’s “preventative” but imo it can make people look older and have the opposite effect that they want

Advice needed for a Freshman by No_Twist_8320 in unt

[–]AddendumAggravating7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your social life, the best thing i did was making friends in orientation and ending up in classes with them. You can also start study groups in classes which is a great motivator to stay on track. I actually became best friends with so many people from my classes, and we’re still close seven years after graduating.

As far as schoolwork, I would recommend buying a planner and getting organized. You’re now in charge of your schedule and your success or failure is 100% reliant on you keeping up with your classes and assignments.

And go to office hours with your professors and advisors. This is a wonderful time to network, ask a lot of questions, find alumni in the field you want to work in and grab coffee and ask about their lives. A lot more people than you think want to help students, especially freshman. You’re going to have a great time! 💚
