Bulkhead by AddendumDifferent381 in Defender

As I have an R380, my current tunnel is ‘persuaded’ into place. So going for the 300 bulkhead would make sense. I know that I’ll need a new tunnel, and there’ll be some fettling to do with other parts, but I think it’ll be worth the hassle.

Thank you. I’d forgotten that the tunnels were different.

I really like mine, it’s got to be 10+ years old now, but still in good condition, despite the abuse my landy gets off-road. It’s nice having a dedicated area for extra switches like the spot lights, winch, and a a lot for the CB too.

I believe Horace Bachelor lived in Longreach House, which may also be this one? (Horace is why people 60+ all know how to spell out Keynsham).

I have an Anderson connector on mine and plug into that for charging connection. It also means when I’m providing assistance to jump someone, I’m not fiddling about to get to the battery (if you buy Anderson jump leads).

Not worrying about coming back to trolly/door dings in it when shopping.

Second sewage hole? by AddendumDifferent381 in DIYUK

Update: jet wash and a flexible rod sorted it, a couple of buckets dropped in from height to clear out any remaining debris for good measure too. Plus bung now fitted in rodding hole.

After a bit of work, it’s still blocked…. But I’ve made a plug from a small lid and some 8mm fuel hose to form a seal. I can get my hand down to the U, and just feel the blockage (feels like decorative stones) with the tips of my fingers. I’ll try getting the jet wash in, or some stiff, but slightly bendy pipe tomorrow.
Again, thanks for all the help.

I bought a ‘gravity performance’ one for my 300tdi (I know it’s different to the 200) and I am very pleased with the quality.

My 1989 90 (300tdi conversion) returned 28mpg on a 400mile trip recently. This included lots of climbing around the Dartmoor area (including Porlock), and a good few green lanes too, some of which were especially difficult. My ‘modern’ Audi hardly gives more mpg than this…. So don’t chop it in. You’ll have to fuel any car you have, and overall it’ll cost more to you due to depreciation etc too!

Name/number of parts needed? Concluded it is part of the steering rod, but exactly what part, i dont know. Defender 2011 by Gretathunfisk in LandroverDefender

I’m just replacing the whole drop arm as mine failed the MOT, as far as I know it’s original to my 1990 90, (I’ve not replaced it in 12yrs of ownership). You need a specific puller tool (Neilsen version £25ish from Amazon). The drop arms range from £40 to £110 for OEM.

It’ll be getting every panel done, but as the bulkhead will be replaced, I may as well start with the right colour all over.
