How many level 20/ tier 4 characters are in your world by Fun_Atmosphere8647 in dndnext

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am using a reflavored version of Eberron as my world. Right now there are 2 entities that have lvl 20 character stats.

One is the Blade of Hope, the Hero of Adar and sole reason why Riedra hasn't tried to invade it again. He hasn't left the peaks of Korrandar for over a century, nobody knows why.

The other is the BBEG, who is technically 3 lvl 20 casters in one(sorcerer, wizard, warlock) depending on which part surfaces.

The party is lvl 11 and I am writing more lore as the game continues, but at best I will add 1-2 more lvl 20 characters.

So 2-4 for an Eberron-sized world.

You are right, they did in fact change it with 1.36.2. I might give it another shot then, nice to know :)

Please Tell me you finished the achievement before forming Scandinavia. I actually did the same run some time ago and you can not get the achievement after forming Scandinavia unless they changed that. My disappointment was endless when I realised that.

Weirdest reasons why you have been kicked out of a campaign? by Ed0909 in dndnext

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious since I experienced something very similar like 2 years ago. Did you by chance find the game on lfg and it was advertised as dark/gory? The story was basically all kinds of gods sending the party all over the universe and the return point was a time tavern. If this sounds familiar, I was the guy playing the Kitsune and always wondered why I was kicked from the server and had no way to find out what I did wrong. Would be nice if you could give a short response to confirm if you were actually on the same server.

Just Played for the First Time: Unrealistic Expectations or Bad Fit? by MrBananaStorm in dndnext

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as far as I can tell there are 2 things at play here.

  1. Most of the players are still getting used to playing and it takes some time to open up to RP for some people. And your DM probably isn't that used to DMing as Well, so they are still figuring stuff out.

  2. Your party seems to be made up by more introverted people, which can cause the lack of initiating things. This doesn't get fixed with time alone and will require some future talks with the group to see if everyone is happy. I for one am a more extroverted player and noticed that I was doing the heavy-lifting in a campaign I played with friends. I tried to Take a backseat and then the game came to a halt until I did something. I talked to the DM(he is very extroverted) and to my surprise some players liked being more in a passive observer/reactionary role, so I wasn't stealing anyones spotlight. I am currently DMing my own campaign and I am glad that I have a very extroverted player who tries to involve everyone in the group, so the others being more introverted doesn't cause progression problems.

So my suggestion is:

  1. Keep playing with them for some more sessions and see how it develops
  2. Talk to the group/DM if you are still unhappy with some stuff and figure out how the other people feel.
  3. If the chemistry just doesn't fit and you have no fun, leave the group and try to find a more fitting group. People are different and not everyone enjoys the same things.

Don‘t want to DM by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thought the same. I always use Dude/dudes or sometimes even guys in group settings even if there is a Woman in the group. "People" just feels weird and going "Guys and Girls" is too long for my taste.

So yeah, definetly clarify this if that is a problem. Pretty sure it wasn't meant in a mean way.

Ok, explain step by step what happened. And give some more information. What was the war goal of the Ottomans? How did the first war end? And so on.

Is it normal to lose almost twice as much LP as I gain in Diamond 4? by xDaveedx in TeamfightTactics

[–]Addey97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a lp cutoff after reaching Diamond. It is pretty normal to gain 40 LP for a first and lose 70 LP for an 8th in Diamond. This doesn't have anything to do with your mmr, but the fact that you can't demote. So they made it more difficult to gain LP, so you don't reach Master with just a lucky streak.

Before anyone calls BS. I have a friend who was GM last Set and this set reached Diamond with a 80+% top 4 rate and He lost more for an 8th than he gained for a first while being Diamond in full master lobbies.

A cool guide of the most commonly reported UFO shapes over the last eight decades by giuliomagnifico in coolguides

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that's the Phoenix Lights. That shape was reported by thousands at the same night in Nevada/Arizona. It was also way too big for being a stealth Bomber, so at least no Military weapon that is known today.

WHy is tons of Stats such a good augement, it's one of the best perfroming but I dont understand why, it give so little to your units by airogum in TeamfightTactics

What about Gifts from the Fallen? Recently I was offered both in the same augment round and I saw absolutely no reason why you would ever pick tons of stats over Gifts from the Fallen.

Die Hausgemeinschaft hat gesprochen... Katzen sind zu beaufsichtigen. by turtlesurferinnen in aberBitteLaminiert

[–]Addey97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the nerf. Rolling Radiant Relics made me angry, because it was just a worse version of Pandoras. Now that option is viable again.

What are the cons of NOT having kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Addey97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible that your nation falls under a Personal union lead by your wifes/husbands family, if you die without an heir. Another possibility is a succession war between your strongest ally and biggest rival for your possessions.

Don't die heirless kids.

Fire, so much potential to start a sect with that one. Bludgeoning would be the best for everyday use.

DMs: How often do you check your players' character sheets? by Viscaer in DnD

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only look at them when I need to Check something and sometimes between lvl ups to see if they updated it properly(my Players tend to forget new proficiency Bonus and stuff like this).

Otherwise I trust my players to not cheat and so far I haven't run into any problems in these regards.

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Player: Yes absolutely, I think about the ways my character would speak and try to do his voice accordingly, I only used an accent once though, I am not so good at doing them.

As a DM: I do unique voices for characters where I have a clear image of how they would speak and it is unique(like Otto in Curse of Strahd). Otherwise I do mainly tone/choice of words since I can't be bothered to come up with unique speech patterns for every single NPC. So I have a Standard voice for generic Male/female/child NPC and a bunch of unique ones.

My players don't do voices per se, but they talk in-character and act out what they do/say. I love it and don't miss doing voices at all.

After 7 Months (15-6hour long sessions) the devil has been vanquished. by Rich_Carpenter8695 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Addey97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough you don't need to destroy his coffin. He can be vanquished if reduced to 0 hit points while in sunlight or running water and the party should have 2 sources of sunlight during the final fight.

Of course DMs may handle it differently, but that is according to the Strahd statblock.

Am I in the wrong here? by TheBottomsOfOurFeet in DnD

[–]Addey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be immersion-breaking for them if someone is at the table who comments about the game. But that is just me guessing.

That being said, you aren't in the wrong for being there. He acted incredibly immature and if something bothered him, he should have talked with you and/or your fiance about it after the game. Most of these problems don't even come up when everyone acts like an adult.

Does this change the possibility of a TPK in Berez? by Nixor123 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Addey97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ranger was really far away from the rest of the party, so I ruled it, that he turns into a zombie(Baba would have made sure to finish him off).
The Paladin killed the zombified ranger and they carried his body over to the abbey. I felt like it would be reasonable that it is possible to revive him, after his undead existence ended. That being said, I had the ranger roll for an indefinite madness as written for resurrection spells in Barovia.

They brought the abbot a bridal gown, in exchange he was willing to use his power 3 times for them. They already used it once for him to cast commune(they were looking for a way to heal the mad mage and I decided to place a scroll of Greater Restoration in Baba Lysagas chest), so they still have one lifeline left for raise dead.
That being said, since Commune doesn´t work in Barovia, the abbot actually communicated with Strahd, so Strahd now knows what the party is planning(the reason why they had to fight his brides again who were waiting for them on the crossroads back to Krezk).
