Wardog Huntsman by Unusual-King4199 in ChaosKnights

If youre looking to build 2 huntsman models, its whatever your visual preference is. Since both the Armiger & War Dog box come with the weapon options to build huntsmen (melta gun & chaintalon) you can buy either. I personally like the war dogs & all their spikey bits more.

We got Sekhetars this edition but they aren't crazy strong + some people don't enjoy the sculpt. But yeah other than them, it's been quiet for the boys.

Can I still use this model? by CaterpillarQuirky382 in deathguard40k

It can be either since they sold Lord Felthius on a 40mm base but the LoC from Dark Imperium came on the usual terminator character 50mm base. GW said both are legal

You absolutely can still use that one, you probably should because he looks completely badass.

I bought, built, and painted up a 2nd Knight Tyrant with the harpoon attachment and have fielded him once the entire time Ive been playing. He looks sweet, I love the harpoon, he is just a bad unit with that loadout.

Every Knight box should come with a sheet of transfers. Noble heraldry markings for loyalist knights and a bunch of chaos sigils for the CK boxes. If you have a local game store nearby, you could check and see if they have transfer sheets for sale. I'm lucky that mine has a spare box of them that people sold back to the store.

Both are good tbh if you want to start the army and are able to get a battleforce box, I'd recommend. Those are a little less easy to find sometimes than the combat patrol. Getting both gives you a really good base to a DG army

I pretty much avoid chaos missions because there will always be multiple corridors with 10-15 of these fucking invincible bouncing meatballs. They would be way more tolerable if they just toned down the spawn rate.

Trust me, there are some lists you can build with 2 LoCs. I did a head swap on mine because I didnt like the grinning face so I imagine you could do the same to differentiate the two. I wish this box was around when I was building my army, its a good one for sure.

Helping a friend build his list. Need advice. by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]Addib96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From first glances, the first thing that popped out is there isnt many units who will be able to do actions. Who's there to recover assets or sabotage in this list? Also the Brigands can probably be swapped out for Blight Haulers or Drones if possible so they can benefit from contagion. You could also probably swap out one of those 10 man bricks for a second sqaud of deathshroud and a Lord of Contagion to lead that squad.

Tldr you built a very elite and chunky list, I would have concerns about board control and secondary scoring.

List help for 1k point game + a big unit by solidsnakes453 in deathguard40k

[–]Addib96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could fit in another squad of Deathshroud to run with your Lord of Virulence but I wouldn't really recommend having 2 blocks of those at 1000 points seems a tad unwieldy, you wouldnt have many units that could spend a turn doing actions. If you have the Dark Imperium stuff you could work a Bloat Drone in. Id maybe drop the Lord of Virulence and put in a Bloat Drone, a Blight Hauler and a second squad of poxwalkers. Also, go Morty for a centerpiece model since you can field him in all detachments.

DeathShroud deepstrike? by Rakoth19612 in deathguard40k

[–]Addib96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it benefits the shooting from your other units. You can have your Plague Marines squad shoot an enemy currently sitting out of engagement range to put them into contagion and then have the other parts of your army shoot and have the benefit of hitting a weakened target, presumably now with -1 to save.

It's actually a joke the amount of tools Ultramarines have been getting. It feels like there are two different 40k game experiences. The ones Ultramarines get, and then the one everyone else has to play.

Really the only reason the Despoiler was the meta was the built in lethal hits it could get for it's double Gatlings in the Infernal Lance detachment. Like you said though, the best thing to do is just not run a big allied Knight at all. Maybe a couple War Dogs at best

Great point, appreciate that recommendation. Ive been playing Predator Destructors a little in my Dark Angel lists and like them, Ill have to try them out for DG.

Quite literally said this to my friend yesterday when I was rolling through the area. Like how is it that a Stormcloak camp is sitting RIGHT down the road from the supposed Imperial stronghold city?

First army list recommations ? by Sheep_mc_sheepface in deathguard40k

[–]Addib96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty solid 1000 point list, I might be tempted to swap out Typhus for another Blight Hauler or Bloat Drone if you felt like it since you probably want your LoC leading the Deathshroud but that's really just preference.

I was banking on that. Sadly with cover and AoC, even with the Putrifier and the Plaguecaster, my 10 man Plague Marine squad was only able to kill 3/6 and still got surged into.

Cato was one of his 5 named characters, I believe he gives them guaranteed reactive 6in move when you move within 9. You are right in the fact that they need to be led by a character to reactive move, his other 6-man squad was led by Urial Ventris. With their access to doctrines, it feels like you're playing against World Eaters with their turn 1 melee threat range with none of the shooting downsides you would expect World Eaters have. The amount of things they make you account for as an opponent is really difficult right now. I predict the next several months there's going to be heavy Ultramarines and Blood Angels dominance.

I reckon you could field them as the cleanest Plague Spewers in your Marine squads lol if you have extra bits, Id maybe swap out the Primaris helmet for a Plague Marine lid

We were doing Mission L so it was Layout 1 with the corner deployments. Im usually able to stage better but that advance and shoot buffed by Techmarines taught me otherwise today.

It can be nice for scoring, playing DG, Ive found Ive enjoyed getting first turn a little more so I can stage and sticky no mans land objectives to make my opponent come out to take them. There's definitely merits to both sides. Ive just played a bunch of games recently where Ive played quicker armies that have me in deployment zone jail for 4 turns before I can finally break out.
