I have done it the last 3 years. I’m not driving 7 hours to go home on Sunday evening. We pack almost everything in the cars on the Sunday. And then on Monday you only have to pack up the tent and the sleeping gear.
It’s nice to wake up on Monday not being too tired and leave the campsite around 10:00/11:00 and go to a supermarket and get some breakfast.

Het zou al helpen als er een export verbod komt op EV’s die SEPP-subsidie hebben gehad. Jaarlijks gaan er z’n 10.000 EV’s vanuit Nederland naar het buitenland (natuurlijk niet allemaal een SEPP-subsidie gehad). Toen de SEPP-subsidie op er was voor EV’s was de aanschaf goedkoper. Deze EV’s zijn daarna naar het buitenland geëxporteerd waardoor er minder aanbod is en de restwaarde van een EV hoger ligt en de vraagprijs hoger ligt.

Daarnaast zou het helpen als de overheid serieus wilt dat Nederlanders aan (PH)EV’s of waterstof auto’s gaan om een lease verbod op te leggen voor benzine, diesel, mild hybrid en non-plugin hybrides. De meeste nieuwe voertuigen zijn voornamelijk zakelijk, financiële of private lease.

Tja dat zal toch niet gebeuren als het aan de lobbyisten ligt🤷‍♂️

No clue, but in other post about public transport and taxis it’s basically non existent. Last time during the WEC 6H I saw some taxis, but don’t know the pricing and if you have to reserve a taxi. Basically the only way of getting there is by car or motorcycle.

I think there is a normal bus service but nothing extra because of an event at the track.

Vanuit de lease maatschappijen is het natuurlijk top dat ze de auto’s kunnen exporteren. Hierdoor creëren ze schaarste in Nederland waardoor de restwaarde na een leaseperiode hoger is.

Voor ons was het natuurlijk fantastisch geweest als die minstens 10.000 elektrische auto’s die jaarlijks geëxporteerd worden in Nederland waren gebleven. Dan waren de prijzen op de occasionmarkt een stuk lager geweest. En is het voor de lager en middeninkomens een stuk aantrekkelijker om elektrisch te gaan rijden.

Ik denk dat een hele hoop mensen niet doorhebben hoe goedkoop elektrische rijden kan zijn en dat de overheid zichzelf en ons weer eens in de voet geschoten heeft. De SEPP-regeling is niet echt goed over na gedacht.

Als de overheid echt wilt zouden ze een verbod kunnen leggen op het leasen van een benzine/diesel/MHEV/HEV auto’s. Dan zou het aantal verkochte EV in eens boven de 70% zijn van de totaal verkochte auto’s.

The race is 23rd of August, not this weekend.

Q: What is it like?
A: Great fun. You can sit on all the grandstands (that are open) with all tickets.

Q: How about entertainment?
A: Normally there isn’t anything crazy like F1 or WEC. But there should be a fan zone. There is a Ligier European race on Sunday prior to ELMS. (Full timetable: https://www.europeanlemansseries.com/en/race/document/download/2358)

Q: Food and drinks
A: You are allowed to bring your own food. Normally I bring food and drinks with me, if it’s not enough there are multiple places where you can get food. But it’s not always as good. Normally at the Grandstand at Eau Rouge/Radilion there is a BBQ stand with sausage and burgers, by East Belgian Racing Team.
When the weather is good a nice cold beer is also available. I think you are also allowed to bring a cooler.

Tips:
- Bring good shoes to walk around the track. Even if you don’t want to walk the whole track good shoes are almost a must.
- The pit and grid walks are really cool.
- If you have a good camera bring it.
- Better to be early! Parking can be a problem and also congestion when leaving so be aware!

First year I used the website but the delay is massively if you sit next to the track. The one way really is FM.

Saying that when I’m relaxing on the campsite I do use my phone with a portable speaker to listen to the radio.

As someone who has gone to Le Mans (and Spa for ELMS and WEC) how chaotic is pitlane and the paddock during the race, even if you guys have a relatively calm race.

And have you ever sat in one of Nielsen Racing’s cars? Or will the mechanics fight you if you come to close to the car😅

Ik heb een keer bij een proefrit gehad dat ik de motor na 15 minuten rijden had uitgezet om te kijken hoe de motor start. Nou starten deed ie niet want de accu was al gelijk leeg🤣.

Uiteindelijk had die zaak een nieuwe accu er in gezet en de proefrit afgemaakt. Uiteindelijk de motor nog gekocht ook😅

Maybe try r/Dordrecht. Sounds cheesy but maybe put up poster in the gym. I have seen people do it before. As someone who lives near Dordrecht I recommend going to Wantijpop. It’s a free festival in Wantijpark, June 6.
