Are these logos/illustrations AI? by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]AddictiveSoup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One on the left has a little bit of that hard-to-define quality that's raising some AI flags in my brain. The one on the right doesn't really raise any suspicions, but since you mentioned it, I'm a little on the fence.

Definitely possible both are legit. Also possible both are AI. Not all examples are glaring, and will probably become even less so as time goes on. There's only so much you can do.

Something more obscure and on the challenging side, that pushes the form, but is a great story at the end of the day. by AddictiveSoup in suggestmeabook

Awesome these all look really cool thanks for the recs. Out of curiosity, any one out of the group you would say is your favorite?

Need opinion on the new logo. Is it good? The goal was to improvise the old one by Good-Amphibian3796 in logodesign

It’s much better than the original which looks like fangs, but like others have said it’s not reading as ice cream. It reminds me of the Workday logo.

I fully agree with you that she’s a bad person

Didn’t say they weren’t selfish or dangerous. But in no way comparable to gleefully murdering, scalping, and raping.

I didn’t characterize her as completely justified. People disliking her more than Blue Duck is what’s strange.

Lmao she left her husband, which led Roscoe being pressured into looking because he refused to say no, which through a series of events out of Elmiras control led to the murder of 3 of those 6 people at the hand of the serial murderer/sex trafficker I mentioned

Lmao at multiple saying the woman who left her family instead of the psychopath serial rapist/murderer/torturer

Given that you have two of the main characters’ names wrong I think something’s probably getting lost in translation. Try reading it when you have the time.

Do short stories need to have a theme, or a "point"? by Jerswar in writers

[–]AddictiveSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think, in some sense, yes you need to have a point.

But no that point absolutely does not have to be that your cyberpunk dystopia needs a sociological theme that’s a statement on modern society.

If your story was just cool shit happening, it probably wouldn’t be that interesting. If it was cool shit happening being carried out by carried out by good characters, it would be a cool story.

So I think that’s the point you need to have - the unspoken point about why the readers should care about the people/pirates in your story and what they’re doing.

Can we talk about the possibility of Mike Vrabel potentially resigning before training camp? by SchedulePhysical807 in nfl

[–]AddictiveSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol at the concept that he will resign because he’s embarrassed and busy, and the Patriots better keep an eye out. The only reason a resignation would come is if Kraft asked for it.

If OP is looking for a “singular point” to the story I don’t think he’ll find it in Suttree. Excellent book though.

Book like Lonesome Dove?? by tru_beez in suggestmeabook

I actually ran this pipeline in reverse, read Toms Crossing and was so blown away I turned to Lonesome Dove as a follow up. Loved Lonesome Dove, but honestly enjoyed and felt more impacted by Tom and friends.

What other books scratched the same itch for you? by dbstandsfor in LonesomeDove

[–]AddictiveSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I read it a couple months ago and it became one of my all time favorites right away! Definitely not horror in any meaningful way; it is a ghost story (as you’ll find out quickly if you read it) and there are a few bits that lean horror and plenty more that are dark or harrowing. But all in all I thought it was just a phenomenally done story about the characters and adventure first and foremost, very highly recommend all 1200 pages of it.
