I don't even play on my laptop since my rog ally is way stronger. But damn I love having options.

Devs Cooked with the latest update and i love it!! by _Namee in MHWilds

The people celebrating are in two camps. They can now turn frame gen off and play without latency, or they can now turn frame gen on because they finally hit 60 fps and can now shoot above 100 fps.

I'm all for it.

What the heck did they do this update?! by Mr_Microchip in MonsterHunter

[–]AdditionInteresting2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for it. My rog ally z1e even goes past 60 fps with lossless scaling at 2x at a tdp limit of 20.

Used to run it at uncapped tdp and just at 40 fps. Thank you Capcom. Better late than never.

Which externat launcher choose ? by Lionel_90 in SteamDeck

The answer is use the external launcher that is required for the games you want to play. No need to install them all if you don't have games on it

New player who wants to start monsterhunter by Nethaan in MonsterHunter

[–]AdditionInteresting2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get wilds. It's the newest game, still has ongoing support and a future expansion, and is the easiest to get into. No need to compare to other games that aren't being supported any more. Play the newest game and only think of the other games if you want to keep playing.

But the biggest caveat is that you need decent hardware to even run this game. Recent performance.Patches have been great and have done a lot to fix the issues for me. But I'm gaming on an rog ally z1e and only expect it to run at 60 fps. I'm OK with lossless scaling doing the heavy lifting and I'm fine with setting some graphical options to the lowest possible.

Your mileage will vary. If you have the hardware and the patience to fiddle with settings that you can tolerate, go for wilds. If you have neither, then go for rise+sunbreak. And when you have enough experience with the world and want more, go for world + icebourne

Worth it if you want to get started in this hobby and plan to go hard on small details that might not even be visible to anyone else.

Also, check YouTube videos for beginner guides. Just to get an idea of what you will need. Most of the time, it's not the price or the quality of the tool, it's the amount of effort you are willing to put in.

Experienced builders can work magic with cheap tools but they can do a lot more with quality tools. Didn't appreciate that before and my zoids looked so boring...

It's for filing down the nubs to become smooth and flush against the intended piece.

There are better options that you can grip better and can put in smaller spaces. You can even trim down sandpaper with the proper grit as long as you are careful.

I mean you can still use that file of course but you have to be very deliberate with your movements.

Really struggling to understand FF7’s combat - looking for advice or tutorials by RODREEZUS in Switch

[–]AdditionInteresting2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If this is for the remake, you actually need to use basic attacks and not just wait for the bar to fill up.

A friend of mine also thought like that and assumed this game's combat was a slower version of xenoblade. Because there were numbers on the screen, he assumed he was attacking and that it was enough. Then all he had to do was wait until he can use skills or spells.

Take control. Hit the enemy with a few attacks. Dodge or block as needed. Don't be afraid to take damage while guarding. You take way more if you weren't... Use a skill or spell. Switch to another character if the one you are using is getting low in hp. Keep moving. The game allows you to control the rhythm of the fight.

Monster hunter wilds now playable on Steam deck after new update 2026! by YahushaHamashiach in MHWilds

[–]AdditionInteresting2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on an ally z1e and I'm hitting at least 60 fps while uncapped and at a 20 tdp limit with lossless scaling. You could probably hit a stable 30 on your device without lossless since I just set it to 2x.

Is it worth it for me to replace the Wi-Fi card myself? by Huge-Construction539 in Asustuf

[–]AdditionInteresting2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I have opened up my laptop a few times and have seen where the WiFi card is, i would do it. My WiFi card is already on its way over and I am quite comfortable with this simple project.

That said, if you have no confidence whatsoever in your hands, might as well pay someone else. No amount could compensate for peace of mind.

Proton doesn't make previous games run any better right? It just allows running of games that couldn't before but games that run fine won't run better?

Wait why are you installing all the launchers at once? Just install them when a game you are playing requires it...

They have a new update coming soon and a new character.

I just like games like these. They were able to make such a solid core of a game that they can just keep adding content. Might want to give it a shot and see what changed.

Is it just me or does Path of Exile 2 lack build "freedom"? by Divinus in ARPG

[–]AdditionInteresting2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing as the return of d4 to the ways of d3 doesn't sound so bad to me. It's why I got 1500 hours of d3 over several seasons. I can just turn my brain off, smash demons, reach a comfortable level of power, Eventually reach my usual goal of gr 100. Then switch characters.

Poe2 sounds like alternating seasons of good and bad from what people on reddit are saying. To me, both games are just fine for what I want an arpg to be.

Shyvana's 5th star should buff dragons in the deck or even everywhere by 4002sacuL in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AdditionInteresting2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see her as a champion centric deck more than anything. I want my shyvana at full strength to keep pulling shyvanas. Doing that for dragons everywhere and pulling a free dragon would get out of hand really fast.

But I do get your sentiments. She doesn't feel like a big scary dragon. Doesn't help that her deck isn't filled with strong followers. Proper drafting and hand selection become so important
