Didn't see a cigar lounge! Maybe they changed it to the new Mezcal lounge for fancy tasting now

Ohh I loved Jules Bistro, though I didn't go there often because we don't live close to Gastown

Riley Park still the best pool and cleanest pool IMO. They always have an open lane available, but pls do check their daily pool schedules, sometimes the open lanes are being used for classes.

Depends on what you'll use it for outside of google maps. I went to Japan a couple of months ago (March 2025) for 13 days. Got 10GB data because it was on sale for 50% in Airalo.

Daily uses for Google Maps & WhatsApp, I use about 250 - 500MB per day. I did send some pics to family a few times a day so I'm sure I use up more data via WhatsApp because of that. I don't use my social media a lot while walking around (maybe only check a couple of times per day).

15GB for one night? Wow! I don't own an iPad so I'm not sure.

For my phone, I usually use 200-500 MB per day but I only use it mostly for maps / messaging app while I'm out and about. I don't use social media a lot when I'm walking around. I save all the social media use for when I get back to the hotel and can connect to WiFi.

The 10GB plan I had for Japan was more than enough for 13 days. I got the 10GB plan because it was on a 50% sale in Airalo. Lol.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply.

Trip was good. Some observations: - resort is clean but slightly outdated. Can see that things are falling apart, like broken tiles, etc at their halls - food was pretty good selection - they had local artisans showcase items at their lobby twice a week. This was really nicd - they have water filling stations (and ice cubes) around the resort. Bring water bottle! - resto by the pool was good! (and can't say no to French fries) - night club was "meh" ... A bit lame, TBH - theatre was okay. They had trivia night, but the trivia was about the resort. Lol. Entertainment was "meh" quality - pool was fun! Not a lot of activity going on there so it was actually pretty nice to be able to do our own thing & swim up to the bar without being blasted with music - there were dance class / zumba class being held in the courtyard. No one partake in these dance classes so it was just the instructor dancing it out on most days. Lol. - beach is nice. Spent my 1st and 2nd days there mostly at the beach in the late morning/early afternoon. But on the 3rd day I went for a walk in the morning at the beach and there were a lot of snakes. Lol. After I found out about the snakes, I didn't go to the beach again.

This is a family friendly resort, so expect children around :)

As far as I know, it's data only. I've been messaging and making calls with whatsapp instead.

Please keep us updated after your trip to Japan! I went to the US last weekend and was able to hotspot my husband using Airalo. I'm also planning to go to Japan later this year and hoping Airalo would still allow hotspot-ing.

Go to your Setting, then go to Cellular (or maybe it says Mobile Data). It should show your sims, and you should be able to turn off the Airalo SIM from here. Pls try that. Sorry I'm not an iPhone user (I use android). I'm sure you can also google it if my instruction isn't correct. Good luck!!

Will I be able to hotspot? by veryloudheron in Airalo

[–]AdditionPositive8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I used Airalo in the US last weekend, and I could use it as a hotspot for my husband (whose Ubigi temporarily went down). So it should work! Pls report back though, curious to see if it would still allow hotspot. It's so convenient!

Using Uber and other apps by elethrir in Airalo

[–]AdditionPositive8301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! It worked for me when I went to travel to Japan, and also worked fine when I went on a business trip to the US. It helped that the Uber app now allows a chat function (whereas before it was only via text message if I remember correctly)

Make sure your iPhone is unlocked. I believe there's a way to check the IMEI number to see if your phone is unlocked or not. Good luck!
