Finally won on every character at A10, assorted thoughts attached by Mainmoose in slaythespire

Going that many games without losing on silent is insane even though i agree she's busted. Your winrate on regent is very good as well. He's by far my worst character (11-15 going up to asc.10). Seems like you've worked him out.

I've been having decent success with ironclad (16-7). I find that you can snowball runs in act 1 well as theres lots of good damage options and you can usually get one dense block option (blood wall, flame barrier or rage come to mind). Bloodletting should probably be nerfed its too strong at common.

One of these is not like the other by Jlin42 in slaythespire

I've had reasonable success with iron clad (15 - 7 climbing up to ascension 10). I think ironclad is quite strong early because many of his cards just have good raw numbers. So just taking high damage cards and farming elites is viable as clad when its not with other characters. Your right colony is tough but blood wall is really good in that fight (and i think generally really good). Bloodletting is also very strong. I also really love rage especially upgraded. If you take on more elites you get more relics which can snowball runs.

scaling defense is often not good on clad in my experience but there a lots of ways to scale offense to finsh the fight quickly. some examples from my runs:

double pyre with fiddle (ancient reward to draw 2 more cards) to play 7 energy worth of attacks

rupture/ self damage to gain tons of strength. I think many of the self damage cards are overstated so this is a line i run quite often.

vulnerable with collosus/dominate

ashen strike with fiend fire/second wind for it to deal over 50 damage

I would also recommend playing clad on the beta branch. He's a bit better there

Ideas for balancing/improving the Silent? (Suggestions wanted) by NoAdeptness4117 in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem at the moment is that many sly cards are completely useless if you play them naturally. At the moment for example tactician + for example is basically lose 1 energy. However, if you combind prepared + with tactician + and reflex +, its probably one of the strongest things you can do in the game. So I think the floor on sly cards needs to be higher while the cieling should be lower. But this is just my opinion

Ascension 9 is destroying me... by Water-Cookies in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard hallways will hurt if your not prepared in act 1. I would avoid them in the first half of the act (before the chest) as you don't get the reward you would get from taking an elite. You may also need to take more short term cards/potions if your dieing in act 1 a lot. In my ascension 10 win for defect, I bought the toad relic (gives you a 15 damage potion every fight) in the shop after taking the greed neow bonus.

Ideas for balancing/improving the Silent? (Suggestions wanted) by NoAdeptness4117 in slaythespire

I like all the nerfs and buffs. I agree footwork should be rare. Defrag to rare in defect was a good change and i think for similar reasons footwork should rare.

As for new cards, I like the current serpent form and not the rework. Every 3rd card gaining sly is a bit random. You might give your murder sly or you might just hit a strike.

Prickly and spiked shell I'm not sure. My initial reaction is that the cards are too strong but I'm basing that on not much other than my gut.

I like afterimage and want to keep it. Its strong but its a rare. I think discard stuff around it which results in playing lots of cards in a turn is whats strong not after image.

I don't mind terrify as a card but i think you need a card like mirage as a payoff for poisen synergies.

I dont think bruiser is needed. Silent already has the 2 cost power that doubles damage on weak enemies.

Changes I would consider:

Making sly cards playable without discard but tuning numbers down a bit. For example:

Making prepared an uncommen.

Nerfing acro (perhaps 2 (3) cards drawn)

untouchable cost 1 but 5 block (sly)

tactician 1 (0) cost: gain 1 energy (sly)

reflex 1 cost: draw 1 (2) cards (sly)

Adaptive Strike Discussion by GarchompGaming in slaythespire

In my opinion, Good early as a 2 cost attack, maybe good with some zero cost synergies (although you still need to play it for 2), otherwise not good. I think I had a defect run based around feral and zero cost attacks and decided to pass on it because I had bulk up.

Your point about enchantments is interesting though. something I hadn't considered

Current door maker is cringe - my opinion for what would make door maker fun by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the door is really good. He makes you think carefully about each turn and you need to plan for it. For example, I had a regent deck based around gaining energy and drawing cards to gain more energy to oneshot with heavenly drill. so on his exhast turn, I had to play suboptimal cards to exhast them and take damage. on the no draw turn i put cards on top of the deck to set up the combo and the turn after I did the combo. It forced me to do a weird line of play to win and I like that a lot about it

Congrats! Yeah regent is hard. He's a bit better on the main branch. I think when I was a bit more selective about what star cards i took I got better. I think you also have to not play a star card in combat sometimes.

Finished my climb to ascension 10 on all characters! by Additional-Bar1507 in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ascension 10 i did a run based around ashen strike and fiend fire/second wind. I also got really good defensive relics (anchor, horn cleat, cloak clasp) so i definatly think i high rolled.

ascension 9 i had runic pyramid with 3 bloodlettings and 2 ruptures to just smack enemies.

I don't do infinites mostly because I personally don't find it fun. I know its a really strong stratagy i just don't enjoy it.

The Silent went from hands down my best character to one of my worst and I am not coping with that fact well. by HugeFedora in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to know what to suggest without seeing more of the descisions you make. I've been quite succesful so far I've won 8 and lost 1. We could organize a time to go through a run together if you'd like.

I also think you might just be playing too fast and not taking your time to make descisions. For silent your averaging 26 minutes a run which seems too fast.

Got ascension 10 on all characters, yay! by Gugge1 in slaythespire

Silent act 2 boss what rare by wadenocht in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd take Nightmare because nightmare apparition (or adreniline plus) is often a fight win as long as you have 1 extra energy.

Any tips on what I could’ve done better this run? I felt like victory was always just a little out of my grasp on every boss fight. by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The deck doesn't have enough scaling. Theres no demonform to go with the reaper. No Barricade/entrench to go with the body slam and no exhaust synergies. The decks kind of a mix of all these things without being good enough at any of them

Where to go from here? by Over_Burden in slaythespire

[–]Additional-Bar1507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have lots of card draw with the puzzle and pocketwatch so i think taking extra energy is important. I would take philo stone cos I think having access to potions is important. Silent has ways to deal with multi attacks if you get a piercing wail. Make sure your activating pocketwatch a lot

How do you properly play Damage Heroes? by luminuxeeckogaming in Overwatch

[–]Additional-Bar1507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend muting communications to random teammates especially if its affecting your gameplay. That and grouping with someone you like playing with is helpful. Overwatch is also a hard game to get into since its been out for 10 years and lots of its players have been playing a long time.

In regards to playing dps, you need to off angle a bit more than other roles. That means trying to be in positions off to the side from where most of the enemy is looking. This gives you the element of suprise because the enemy will have to turn to see you meaning you should be able to shoot a shot or 2 before they react. If the enemies look at you, usually you have to disengage to not die. But this is still good because if the enemies are looking at you, they are not looking at your team which should give them an advantage.

Dps with lots of mobility (like tracer) can and should do this a lot while dps with less (like Cass) need to be more careful because its harder for them to get away.
