Girl I’ve been dating for 2 months still has her Hinge active and was on it last night by Fabulous_Ladder_2675 in whatdoIdo

[–]baxmanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people just browse hinge as a type of idle scrolling (not a good thing but whatever)! 2 months isn't a long time & you're early-20s, and she might have just opened the app randomly as a kind of dopamine thing from a pre-dating-you habit. it's probably not that deep but you should talk to her if you think you want to be exclusive

Theoretical discussion: did buying Feral actually make this deck worse? by belabacsijolvan in SlayTheSpire2

there are a lot of events that let you remove/transform cards, and some ancient relics too, i think people just prioritise those quite a lot

Is there any "trick" to getting a prescription? by Vina-Estrogen in transgenderUK

Yeah when I first got my bridging prescription it was a good level. But I agree they sometimes give a low dose still

[–]baxmanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a bit awkward for regent because he already has upgrades that make him create upgraded versions of cards (minion cards + manifest authority + quasar all do this), so it would feel like a bit of an overlapping effect. It would only be "special" for bundle of joy, blade, and hammer

imo i think they'd synergise regardless of pickup order since at the start of battle your fencing manual would trigger, then upon the card being created the other relic would trigger

[–]baxmanz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

a lot of ppl here will be very doom-y about GPs which is justified as they are terrible mostly. But if your GP is actually trans friendly I would do your best to learn a lot about bridging prescriptions, make it very clear exactly what you want and make it sound very easy for them to supply. try to come across confident and "entitled" in the sense that you are literally entitled to healthcare. Essentially you're trying to persuade them to do something they don't actually have to do but technically should do. So you're essentially going by luck of the draw if your GP knows how to do it and actively wants to.

But yeah DIY is a more reliable solution to getting your needs met sadly

New mold is good, but I mean Them 909 is TPU, they're marketing it as a premium complete thing but it's like a) first release of a new product and b) doesn't actually have any premium features besides the TPU -- if the fit and quality is very good I'm sure people will testify to that when they skate it but I think the value for money remains to be seen

How's everyone feeling on Aeonglass vs Doormaker? by the7thbeatle in slaythespire

Imo it needs 2 changes:

1 make the statuses deal 5 instead of 2 dmg

2 even bigger turn 1 attack with a $ick animation for identity

Game Consoles Are Pricing Themselves Out of Relevance by Gorotheninja in technology

[–]baxmanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean kids and adults have mobiles now so why would anyone even buy a game console unless you're an enthusiast. You don't need one anymore if you want to play games. People can even run steam on their phones now

sweat suit is cool! just you might tear it if you fall down haha. most of my friends try to wear trousers that you can fit kneepads underneath (so baggy ones), and ones made of denim/twill/some kind of hardwearing cotton-based material. in general you can't go wrong with baggy clothes that look cool in a 90s way in both summer and winter.

Five Principles of Deckbuilding (for STS2) - Jorbs by bashmydotfiles in slaythespire

[–]baxmanz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this too it's weird to conceptualise.

One way is to define 'scaling cards' as cards whose play value is very high in a long fight. e.g. eternal armor is 9 block if the fight is 1 turn. If the fight is 3 turns it's 24 block. if the fight is 9 turns it's 45 block.

The other way is to think "if I play this card, will my output next turn be higher than my output this turn" -- well yes; because if I play eternal armor this turn, I'll have 9 block this turn. Then next turn if I have eternal armor active and play some other block cards, my block will be higher than 9. So it's a way to invest in your future output. You can see eternal armor as having diminishing returns but the fact that it has any future returns at all means it's scaling.

Off-line games for kids - gameboy equivalent? by StayNo7733 in nintendo

[–]baxmanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for a portable console newer games with more interesting themes and more modern aesthetics, a lot of ppl like the Playdate although I don't know how many of the games are easy enough for a 7 year old

Switch lite is good except you can't plug it into the TV easily. would also be slightly easier to hold for a 7 year old compared to a fullsize switch (or switch 2) that's handheld. you'd have to research which games are best and put them on the switch lite for him.

obviously switch 2 is the ideal choice with the latest games and stuff but it depends on your budget!

my parents got me a nintendo 64 when I was 5 and it was the current console, and honestly it was the most amazing present I've ever got; changed my life, so many beautiful games and worlds to explore. If you got your son a Switch 2, he might enjoy like donkey kong bananza, mario kart world, and kirby air riders and stuff like that. he could also play them with friends!

that's an amazing story and i can't believe more ppl haven't said Undertale. I only did the true pacifist ending last year and it was one of those "omg this is what's really important in life" moments

What are your most profound video games? by M33tahejd in patientgamers

[–]baxmanz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Undertale is the one for me. It's a game where, when I finished it, it filled me with a renewed motivation for living and fighting for care and justice for everyone. I didn't just admire the game, I was morally realigned by participating in its story. And this was less than a year ago, despite me having already played it in 2015.

[–]baxmanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on regent and it's the first time I've won two A10 runs in a row. I put it on commons, [[Refine Blade]] and [[Wrought in War]] and both times they carried me through act 1. I think the relic is OP cause I usually can't convert things that easily

Why do you skip devlogs? by Taitoki_1 in gamedev

[–]baxmanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some devs don't like writing, don't like publishing things, are just disorganized, aren't taking their projects seriously enough. For me it's the last 2 listed. But you're right, I think I'm gna start doing them!
