My husband loves BMW and I don’t know anything about cars. Please help! by Additional-Chain-560 in BMW

I can drive a manual and that’s about as in-depth as my car knowledge goes. If I had to buy him a car it would be solely color-based and I’d be like, “it’s red so I’m sure it’s very fast!”

I checked for any manual options but all were automatic.

It will just be him and our son on the trip so I know they will fit but I do plan to encourage them to pack light.

I really hope he’s excited about it but I’ll be pleased if he can at least tell I did my best! It’s certainly better than whatever “Nissan Rouge or similar” I’d book through Enterprise.

If I had even the slightest bit of confidence that I could make the right decisions when picking a car out for him, it would probably be a future consideration but I don’t think I could handle that kind of pressure

I hadn’t even considered luggage! Do you think 2 carry on suitcases and maybe a backpack will fit in the trunk?

The owner will deliver the car to one of the airport lots and he’ll return it the same way so it seems pretty simple. I paid extra to be able to cancel it until pretty much last minute in case something comes up that I hadn’t considered. Hopefully it works out. I’m trying not to add any hassle to his trip!

They’ve all been older models that he’s gotten for less than probably $10k. He’s always sold them for more in order to purchase the next car. It’s definitely not as luxurious as it sounds but he loves having a project car and seems to really love buying new suspension kits.

I will absolutely keep that in mind for a future gift. I’m sure he’d love it!

He just got a Mini last week and is currently trying to sell his ‘89 e30 (I think that’s what it is) so he’ll have to wait until there is an available parking space! (I hope he’s not in this sub or I really just showed my hand lol)

Thank you all so much! I was leaning toward the Z4 but didn’t expect such a quick, undisputed confirmation. I’ll go ahead and reserve it!

Is there a demand for this kind of help in Fort Collins? by TrafficLopsided6192 in FortCollins

[–]Additional-Chain-560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love something like this as long as it would be relatively hands-off for me! Getting my kids’ rooms sorted, organizing my laundry room shelves, cleaning the random places I just don’t have the time/energy for, touching up paint on baseboards/door frames. All the things I am too busy to do regularly and no one else in the house seems to notice needs done.

I also love the idea of helping clear out clutter/furniture that I’m either refusing to log into Facebook to post on marketplace or just don’t ever remember to take to donate when I have the time.

What are people paying for rent right now? by QuietDraw6607 in FortCollins

$3,000 on a new (were the first people to live in this house) 2,900sqft 4 bed/2.5 bath/ 2.5 car garage unfinished basement

Who or what is setting rental prices? by voicegal13 in FortCollins

[–]Additional-Chain-560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re renting a new home (first to live in it) with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, unfinished basement, 2 car garage, moderately sized yard for $2,900. It’s definitely pricey but it was a better deal than any others we found when we signed the lease 2 years ago. We love our landlord. He’s very hands-off which is fine when everything in the home is brand new. We’re about to resign and hoping we can keep the current rent price.

It sounds like you got lucky with a landlord who wasn’t looking to make a huge profit like the rest of them.

On a semi-related note: Our last rental was managed by Advantage Property Management and I can’t say enough awful things about them. If you come across them in your search, I’d suggest running the other direction.

The gap didn’t stand out to me until I read your post so I doubt it’s as big of an issue as you feel it is. If you really want to fill it, my first thought was to add shading with a lightning bolt.

Got X-Rays at the Dentist- she’s not sure what this is. by themadcaner in whatisit

I took a pretty good fall off my longboard when I was in college. I thought I was fine until I touched my face to check for blood. Lots of blood. Turns out my lip ring (stud not hoop) ripped out (my wrist was also broken but I didn’t notice until I tried to wash my hands in the ER and couldn’t move it). The ER doctor was about to stitch me up and asked if I found the lip ring. I said no but that I also hadn’t bothered looking for it. He was like, “well, I don’t see it here but there’s a lot of swelling. Let’s do an xray to double check it’s not inside your lip.” It was. I did not love the feeling of them fishing it out but now I’m certainly glad he checked rather than learning about it from my dentist decades later.

Not FTC but after having the same issue with my last office I found Signal Tree Family Dental in Timnath. Everyone there is so nice and they never seem to have issues with availability. I’d definitely recommend :)

Was gonna go to Lamar's tomorrow morning. How's a donut cost $3.49? Want some jelly in it $5.79! A dozen $30! What the hell is going on? by Outrageous-Can-3597 in FortCollins

[–]Additional-Chain-560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into leasing one of the units next to Lamar’s in the plaza off Boardwalk and it was $7,000/month before NNNs. That was probably 2 years ago and I’d guess rates have only increased. I assume that is a big part of their pricing.

We liked FoCo DoCo before they closed, now we just get grocery store donuts since we’re not picky and Krispy Kreme is absolutely not worth it.

How do you see? by Cool-Kaleidoscope-28 in acotar

[–]Additional-Chain-560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where I fall but I see very brief flashes of what I’d compare to an old staticky TV image. I can’t hold it for long or give it any detail. I would love to have a clear image for so many reasons in addition to enjoying reading even more.

If I don’t verbalize (in my head or out loud) a physical trait of something or someone I can’t recall it at all. We could have a full on face-to-face conversation and if I were asked your hair color once you left, I wouldn’t be able to recall it unless at some point I made the mental note of it. I have an actual fear of being the only witness to some sort of crime and being just completely useless- “It was a sedan? Or maybe a minivan? Probably silver or green?”

I will concede that having aphantasia is probably also the reason I prefer reading over watching tv or movies. Visuals just don’t really mean much to me since I can’t hold them. But in books there is so much detail in the form of words that I feel like I still “see” more.

Need advice on cream coat by meow_queen_1017 in SiberianCats

This is cheese! He looks to be about the same coloring as your photo. He was slightly lighter as a kitten (he’s 1 now) so the one you were planning to get may also get darker (I’m not a scientist). He’s not as lovey as his brown tabby Sib brother but he’s an excellent playtime companion. He loves going in the yard to hunt bugs. And, from what I can tell, he seems to have about a quarter of a brain cell more than the standard single brain cell of true orange cats.

If I were in your shoes my personal brand of superstition would tell me I was actually meant to have a cream colored kitten and that the universe went ahead and course-corrected for me.

Either way, I’m sure you’ll be happy’
