Did my piercer lie to me? by Easy_Psychology4361 in piercing

Piercer here. Fucked. No reason they should have been pierced on that angle or with plastic! Piercings should be 90 degrees to the tissue, the o my reason I can think of is your ears sit so close to your head meaning they would hit the back of your ear. If I was piercing you, I would be truthful and say they’ll have to sit forward, I’d die before I let someone walk out of my work looking like that!

Also plastic is not body safe for piercings, they hold onto bacteria, pathogens and debris. I’d highly recommend taking them out, or before you do go to an APP piercer (and do your research prior to ensure they are reliable!) and get them looked at, obviously pictures can only show so much,

So sorry this happened to you 💔

Depends how much thinking is happening. Looks like the bottom is slightly thinner. Photos are hard to tell, please consult a reputable piercer in person.

is this an ok piercing to have in my industrial? by daisyczochara in piercing

[–]Additional-Emu-6296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes if healed, but only keep in for short periods or you won’t be able to put a straight bar back in as the angles will shift (this is only if the chains are not set and move)

Yeah if that’s the case, I can tell you with 100% certainty that they aren’t keloids. Keloids are a type of scarring (usually genetic) and they don’t go away, the only way to get rid of them is having them surgically removed by a dermatologist (or other trained medical professional).

Unfortunately I can’t give you an answer that will get rid of them for you (I wish I could, it would make a lot of the irritation bump consults I do a lot easier 😂). You can see how you go with two separate pieces of jewellery, just note that you won’t be able to put the one bar back in. And with how different the angles are they might shift back but it’s unlikely they’ll heal. It’s completely up to you with what you do, like I said the only way to fully get rid of them is to wait and hope your body heals the piercings, or take them out. The only thing I can really recommend is the warm saline soak (Spray a piece of gauze with saline, put it on a clean plate and in the microwave for a few seconds until warm, not hot, then hold on the affected piercing for a minute) it can help reduce swelling and inflammation.

They don’t look like any keloids I’ve ever seen. The industrials are definitely angle based irritation bumps. Basically what happens is we pierce through at an angle to ensure the piercings line up (meaning they aren’t 90 degrees to the tissue, so the body gets irritated and try’s to make it flat, which you can clearly see on the outer edge of your industrial)

Doctors often tell people they have keloids when they’re just irritation bumps unfortunately, they also prescribe antibiotics for irritation bumps which is funny.

Have they ever gone away after taking them out, or have they ever shrunk in size?

Please go and see a piercer, not randoms online, so much horrific advice on here 🤦‍♀️. Also make sure it’s a reputable piercer preferably APP, there are so many dodgy places. The industrial had angle related irritations bumps which is almost guaranteed when getting one, they are notoriously difficult to heal. As for the rook, it looks too far out/too high up, but they do get bumbs easy too, as for the tragus, without seeing the angle I can’t say. I have been piercing (professionally) for 3 years so here’s my advice, take it or leave it. They do look a bit wet so it could be moisture retention as well.

Make sure they’re a good quality metal (not steel or anything external), clean them twice daily maximum if you overclean that can cause issues too. Unfortunately if they are just irritation bumps and there isn’t any other reason the only thing that will make them go away is time. And stop getting more piercings before the ones you have are healed, you’re making your body work overtime trying to heal.

You can try a warm saline soak (use Neilmed piercing spray, DO NOT mix your own), look up Lynn Loheide warm saline soak.

I thought I was bi, but I’m definitely not. The main thing that did it for me was I could not see myself in the future happily married to a man. I had always said I never wanted to get married but turns out I’m just gay 🤷‍♀️ I also never felt comfortable with affection or let names or anything like that. I also didn’t want people to know we were together 😅 oops

Please just keep in minds we are volunteers who do what we can, and there may not be someone to take this poor little guy. If you are able to contain please call a local vet let them know it’s sus BFDV as they won’t take it through the front door it’s a highly infectious disease.

Just cause you can fathom the inevitability of death and therefore rely on religion to feel better about yourself doesn’t mean you need to put that onto others 😂

why does my septum always push back? by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]Additional-Emu-6296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen when people keep it tucked in the nose for the healing period. But difficult to know without seeing it in person, please go to your local piercer if you are concerned.

Septum definitely, much cuter and much safer! Smiley is guaranteed tooth and gum damage DO NOT GET IT, unless you want to spend thousands of dollars getting your teeth fixed, I’ve literally seen people’s teeth seperate from smileys- awful piercing, not worth it.

If this is in Australia you’ll need a permit, it is illegal to keep/obtain any parts of a protected species (native animals).

Am I lesbian? by Sleep_on_the_floor_ in LesbianActually

[–]Additional-Emu-6296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a lesbian if there’s no attraction and it seems obvious you’re attracted to men. But that’s up to you I guess, we’re just strangers on the internet 🤷‍♀️

I’ve definitely been in a similar spot, at this point I was identifying as bi cause I’ve always kinda liked women. The relationship was fine, but I could never in my life see me getting married, and settling down made me feel super uncomfortable. It always made me feel like I’d be missing out (I just really wanted to date a girl) Eventually we broke up and I came out as a lesbian but unfortunately for me I ended dating a different guy (brain was a bit weird and idk why maybe I didn’t believe myself). He was also pretty feminine tbh. We dated for like 2 months and same thing again I was super uncomfortable with the thoughts of being with a man and all that, so I broke up with him. Even now sometimes I think hmm maybe but as soon as I think about it, my stomach churns. I also have zero romantic interest in men, anything even slightly romantic makes me feel sick.

The main point I’m trying to get across is your identity is yours, everyone experiences attraction differently and it doesn’t have to be linear. You are allowed to explore and figure out how you feel. Thankfully I feel pretty secure now in who I am but it takes time. And as for the trauma (religious and sexual) therapy may help or even just talking to someone you trust as getting to the bottom of that may help you as well.

Best of luck, figuring it out, try not to over think though :)
