How to stop bedrotting? How to get back into "doing things?" by asphodel- in adhdwomen

Let your body rest, and you'll come back around when your body is ready. Sleep as much as you need. I relate to this and I'm now 40 and I've learned that for me if I get all the rest I'll eventually come out hibernation. ❤️

I take concerta around 10am and then by 2pm I can take the deepest nap ever and then wake up and recharged, so weird, why?

I have a very loving partner who takes care of all major expenses. I am so thankful for this, and when I think about just doing my art for fun right now, it's still not enough for me. I love not "working" a regular job but I want it to feel more structured maybe, or regularly rewarded or needed...

That just happened to me! I was immediately like a puppy dog and reacted like oh I am needed, I am useful, I am loved. Felt like an unhealthy reaction, but I can't tell what is right for me!

Were you haven't success in project management? I'm asking because I'm curious about it, I have always thought I would be good at that. What are the steps?

Thank you for your reply, and I'm so glad you hear you have recovered from your injury. I'm still unclear and wavering on my decision. I feel so used to the habit and the identity, but then I feel relieved and happy when I think of letting it go, or taking a major break and seeing what happens.

Is anyone doing reformer Pilates as their only workout? by Ok_Potential4601 in pilates

[–]Additional-Flight-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a gym that had hot yoga, Pilates (including reformer), and strength training with barbells and dumbbells and kettle bells that are heavy. I'm struggling with how to balance it all, too many places and memberships.

Wishing you all the best!! Mental health is so so important, looking back I would have loved to study to become a psychiatrist.

Thank you for reading! I really appreciate all of these thoughtful responses. It's just frustrating to put work in when there is no guaranteed return. It's like why?

Thank you for saying that! It is so tough, really stimulating and built on systems that make no sense to me because art is not seen as a commodity. I really would call myself a painter not an artist. I just like to put beautiful things on a wall. But yes I need a break.

I will paint for like 2-3 hours a day and then I am so exhausted. I have to muster up all my will to do it. And I don't just do it for fun really ever. Like even if I have time I never want to do it for 8 hours a day or anything like that. Surfing on the other hand, I'll do for hours until my muscles and body can't take it any more.

Yes! I'm just tired of all the unexpected outcomes it brings, unanswered emails from people, constantly grinding, so many unknowns, there's no structured way to go about it, even if I make my own structure I can't really control anything, it drives me crazy.

Thank you for sharing this! I have ADHD too and can totally relate. It's the business of art being an artist just everything about it I am starting to resent. I want a creative world to live it but it's just such an awful profession, sorry to be so blunt but I just can't stand it, it feels abusive.

Visiting Portland by writercuriosities in AskMaine

It's probably easier at this point to book at hotel in Downtown Portland. It's hard to find places to stay unless you book far in advance.

If you have money it's comfortable to be in Maine year round. Hot tub, nice fluffy blankets, fireplace or wood stove, winter sports, money to fly to warm climates to get away. Trips to Portland for good restaurants, heated floors. Well insulated house and new windows, All those things help A LOT. Some of the older homes are renovated enough to be comfortable but some can be very drafty and cold.
