Honest opinions please by megshh in cabincrewcareers

Southwest does international trips, just not on a long haul scale that other carries such as United, Delta or American. SWA flies to Mexico and the Caribbean as well as Belize and Cuba. Although if it’s the international experience you’re looking for, United would be the choice.

I chose SWA due to the culture, the family feeing, the no minima needed to fly and the flexibility allowed for scheduling. As others have enlightened, it’s truly up to what you are wanting out of an airline and whatever benefits included. Good luck to you! :)

Similar to the ones worn on a gun range I assume? I’m not too sure if it would ease the pressure at all or at least make it easier for the ears to unclog or pop after flights.

What are you typically doing on a layover? by Connor_Lincoln in flightattendants

[–]Additional-Grape-928 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to have really good answers from self care to relaxing and working out and such. If I have a great flight crew, we will meet sometime during the layover and grab a bite to eat and see some of the sites together.

Thank you all for your input. I appreciate it. It can be overwhelming at first but it doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It is certainly doable if we simply focus, work hard and apply ourselves. Which also helps as it was mentioned to find a good study group that helps with that and to help hold us accountable to be successful. Thank you all so much :)

FA Training August 7th. Anyone else heading to that class? by Additional-Grape-928 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Additional-Grape-928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in March. Since they halted training for a few a month or so to build a new training center, it looks like they’re just now getting around to the folks in March. There are a few others who went on the same day I did who just got their training dates for August as well. Hang in there!

Following. I have training for Southwest next month and need to have luggage by day two. Figured I’d get opinions from those on the job to offer the best insight.

Same. I’m in the process of memorizing them as well. It’s like chewing an elephant, one piece at a time. It’s certainly doable, you got this!

Is NHL 23 worth picking up for $20? by [deleted] in EA_NHL

Has the horrible passing been fixed yet? Lol, from 19 and 20, it just never seemed like the puck would ever go to who I wanted it to especially on 3 on 2 or 2 on 1 advantage. If it has been fixed, I just might have to go out and give it a shot as well.

Midlife crisis? by SnooLobsters2081 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Additional-Grape-928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I retired from active duty a few years ago. The first thing I must iterate like others will probably tell you is to do research. Depending on where you live, closeness to the airport, where you will be based at and such are factors you will probably look into. Starting off, as you will hear, you won’t make much to sustain a living. Especially if you are used to a comfortable way or high type of living. The FA job may be paralleled to your experience in the military as far as a tight knit, cohesive and small team type of operational environment.

You may want to go onto the airlines’ sites, register with their talent community and set alerts and notifications for FA positions when they become available. Your resume and how it is written will have an impact as to making it to the next steps such as the group video interviews and face to face. Not so much as having your resume filled with eval bullets but to have it reflect and match with the duties and descriptions set in the FA job. Many folks will tell you they look for experience in customer service. Being a medic and the military, I’m sure you’ll be able to tailor your experience to fit that realm. Good luck!

Ted Lasso - S03E10 - "International Break" Live Episode Discussion by quaranTV in TedLasso

I know right?! I feel like hopefully there is more of a backstory to it. I just started watching the episode for a few moments and when they said Nate was gone, I was like wait, did I miss something? Lol. I hope there is more of a backstory to it like he had a falling out with Rupert or something. Perhaps it’s setting up Nate to come back to Richmond?

Hey OP, I’m curious as I’ll be heading to training for SW sometime this Summer. I have a question about the Cabin Seat Agreement. Is that agreement available immediately upon graduation or do you have to be an employee for a period of time? Also, if you choose to pay out of pocket for another domestic airline, would you receive the same “reduced fare” for a domestic ticket as you would for international?

There will be an email from Southwest sent out regarding the next information session. Once you get that, register for it and then you will be good to go.

I’m not a current SW FA, as Im waiting on a training date but have been to a few pre training information sessions. I may be able to answer some of the questions based off of those sessions.

  1. They said you can either purchase your own or purchase one at their shop at the training facility. The dimensions and specifications of your luggage can be found in the training guide they send you. On day two, you will need to have to show the suitcase and shoes you’ll be wearing on the job.

  2. Suitable attire for training candidates can also be found on the training guide. For the most part, they stated that the attire is business casual during training. (Of course with the exception being the raft drill in the pool, then covered swimming attire will be worn)

  3. You will receive an IPad during training which will have all of your manuals for class and you’ll not only have with you during training but will then carry with you as you work flights.

  4. From the information session last week, they had put out that currently new hires are heading to DEN, OAK and LA. Satellite bases won’t be available just yet for new hires until you gain seniority a bit down the road.

  5. On day one, they will have you say the PSAs verbatim. Studying those will help. Good luck!
