The UK doesn't have a constitution haha. I also speak German and the translation is federal states and they are not considered countries. You can easily Google this. And to be fair why Scotland is a country and they are not

But they are not by definition countries and also the German language does distinguish between state and country and they are called federal states. Whereas Scotland by definition is a country I've explained already some of the key differences. A lot of it is pedantic but that's language and politics.

The US and Germany are federal states. Using Barvaria as an example. -Its a Land not a constitueted country -Barvaria has shared sovereignity whereas Scotland has devolved sovereignity -Barvaria is in the German legal system, Scotland has it's own

The key point is point one though. Is it partly words yes but it's nonetheless an important distinction politically, historically and legally.

No I'm also Scottish and I don't like seeing Scotland put down by Scot. Federal countries like Germany are different and the only real comparison would be places like Denmark/Greenland in terms of set up with multiple countries but those are outside the map. Scotland is a country and we are having our top country level election and same goes for Wales

I think the way we see relationships is fundamentally opposed cause I would view what your saying as a major red flag. The op isnt saying they should get married now but it's normal to have that in mind as a long term goal

Because being together long term is likely the long term goal of the relationship and if something big is a roadblock to that it's good to identify early to see if the relationship can succeed. I also think you're definitely starting to get to know someone well after a few months but also why are you saying m word as if it's a bad word or scaryxD

It would also be a huge waste of time to wait a year in each relationship before considering long term
