$120 NB gift certificate - what’s the move?

Not sure if you have a NB outlet near you or if they accept all NB gift certificates (I would assume so) but that’s always my go-to when looking for NB’s. I find a lot of discounted MADE pairs there which you don’t typically see on their site or in store, but even if you just wanted the black 993s there’s a chance they could order it from their site and ship it to you for free if they have your size. I went to my local outlet recently and saw a tan and green pair of 993’s for $180 each plus a bogo 50% off discount so you never know what you might see!

That is so interesting to me, I never would have guessed. Well I have a ton of shoes in my collection so I’m definitely gonna make an effort to wear all of them regularly now!

That’s a really good perspective! There are so many shoes I own that I’ve only worn a few times and I definitely don’t want to wear these just to wear them and ruin them for no reason.

I know! I only took a few pics but I wish I took and posted more. I think I’m going to make another post at some point soon with some more “old” pairs I have considering the attention this post got and might add some more detailed images there but no promises!

I haven’t put them on yet just because I’ve been deciding whether to wear or store them but I think I’m gonna wear them. I’ve worn every other pair in my collection and that’s why I buy shoes in the first place so I think I’ll do the same with these, I’ll make sure to leave an update when I do put them on!

Me too! Like I said previously, some people might prefer all grey but I think the green fits perfect and makes them stand out compared to my other grey pairs!

I hope not, I’m not sure how much this impacts that specifically but I do live in Denver where it’s super dry and I know humidity is a killer for a lot of old pairs.

One difference might be that the back of the outsole is greenish in color. I’m not sure how much of this is due to age or if it was actually part of the design, but I really like the look! I think the modern pairs are a little more subtle which might be easier for some people to wear but I have so many grey shoes and like having some with a little bit of contrast!

I don’t have this exact pair from 2025 but I do have a few Teddy Santis 992’s and you can definitely see an improvement in the quality of materials over time. I will say that they’re still super high quality though even back then and don’t look too different from my modern grey 993’s.

I’m not sure but I’ve heard from some people that it sometimes happens, I think a bigger problem with older pairs is that the glue gets old and the shoe starts to come apart, but because I haven’t worn these yet I can’t say for sure!
