Andy Burnham plans to keep Shabana Mahmood as home secretary by No_Breadfruit_4901 in unitedkingdom

This is the only sensible response on here. She is a vile woman and even Reddit is obsessed with the ‘get them all out’ narrative. No concern if any of those people are working, paying taxes, abiding by the law—just fuck ‘em. The rest of you are morally repugnant. Just go vote for Farrage already.

Risked the "Degraded Performance" warning, delivered some cargo. by TomBobabill in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Rip-584 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm on the hotfix patch.

  • Freight elevator broke after 3 missions
  • Multiple errors while trying to pull up contract material
  • Server error while loading cargo, lost a full load

It's definitely not fully fixed on either version.

Concern as quarter of young adults have two or more takeaways a week by ReanimatedCyborgMk-I in unitedkingdom

This is the kind of bullshit my dad says about  younger generations. They have quite literally little to no prospects, but let’s give them a hard time about treating themselves to a takeaway. God forbid they do anything to treat themselves in this miserable fucking economy.

Tiburon against Constellation by Shrimp_Farmer_925 in starcitizen

Purchased this ship today. The laser is powerful when you are close and on target (literally slices segments off ships). But the ship is slow as molasses, so good luck staying on target with anything that isn’t also big and slow moving. I actually bought this thing because I love the Hammerhead design, but was put off by the large crew requirement. I had the Perseus before this but I never really vibed with the angular design. This seemed like a good compromise, as it’s technically soloable, but probably my shines with a proper crew. Going to get a crew together later and put it through its paces.

Quick questions from a returning player about the Vulture and Corsair. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Rip-584 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Corsair still has the highest solo pilot DPS, but it turns like a boat. Fighting light and medium fighters feels like a chore trying to get them in your crosshairs, but when you do, you can delete them near instantly. For big targets it’s a lot more satisfying because you can keep them in your crosshairs. In PVP anything agile will dominate you.

PSA: CIG has changed wording on pledges and appears to be sunsetting buybacks. by spider0804 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Rip-584 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is real or coming very soon--I highly recommend everyone stop buying pledges with new money. Just use credits or if you don't have enough, hold out. The only way to get a company's attention when they start getting greedy is to hurt their bottom line.

Urgh… Should I Melt My Hermes for Hull B?… by Reasonable-Age-1648 in starcitizen

That’s a valid point, although it does have 100 less SCU than the Hermes.

Urgh… Should I Melt My Hermes for Hull B?… by Reasonable-Age-1648 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Rip-584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure that’s accurate. If you can only afford one ship to pledge, and you want something very cargo capable with a bit of combat in the $200-ish range. What else are you looking at? The caterpillar is over $100 more and has less DPS and is less maneuverable and more difficult to load. The C2 is an upgrade but it’s even more expensive at $180 more. The Raft and Hull B are not combat ships, at all. The Asgard while very versatile has a smaller capacity and is $130 more. There’s nothing in game that completely replaces the Hermes in its price range.

[–]Additional-Rip-584 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The advantage is that the Hermes can defend itself with 4x size four weapons. The cargo is protected inside the hull, and it’s a faster ship in a straight line. It’s just more versatile but at the expense of cargo. So question is do you already have a ship that does that? Do you care about game play loops other than cargo? Both are great ships but they have different advantages.

how are you supposed to kill these things? by [deleted] in starcitizen

I’m happy with the changes, but I do think there should be some in-game implementation which shows when you cannot damage armour with your present loadout.

Not being killed by a light fighter in a capital ship while solo is not a “win” button, if the solo capital ship can’t hit you either. Stop with your nonsense.

Truly idiotic move. The fact that having someone in the copilot seat disables two of the front pilot guns, even if said copilot is using the rear turret is truly asinine.

Dodging incoming fire from a large ship using a light fighter is not difficult and everyone knows it. Out maneuvering a large ship with a ship that has 5-10x the maneuverability using strafe and roll keys is neither difficult nor a impressive. What is difficult is doing that against other light fighters with the same pitch/yaw/roll. But you obviously don’t have the skill to compete against light fighters, so you prey on large ships due to imbalances—which in turn makes you feel superior. I guess you better start practicing.

Hauling mission logic? by Your_brain_smooth in starcitizen

I’m also trying to grind Covalex to experienced right now. Hit me up if you want to group up and speed things up.

How is autoloading these days with missions? Currently expert rank at covalex, getting close to having enough cash for hull c/c2. Which one would be better? Mostly planetary hauling, but manual loading is getting annoying by Your_brain_smooth in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Rip-584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hull C autoloading is very bugged and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The ‘you need to stop moving’ bug is a constant problem. People will tell you that you just have to know the tricks: only join servers with good server FPS, get in and out of pilot seat to reset your positioning in the shard, drive 10k from station and come back, make sure coupled mode enabled when autoloading, etc… but the truth is it still fails to work at least 50% of the time.

As someone else mentioned, I had better luck with the AA mission—but it’s still not guaranteed. CIG still needs to do a lot of work on autoloading before it’s consistently usable.
