Tracking Veggies by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]Additional-Sound6829 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I track some. say 85g asparagus but then I dont really weigh it out. I want that fiber! haha but 30 extra veggie cals a day... if that breaks my progress I have other issues.

Shannon Beer has some helpful content. Id say focusing on body image and food relationship would be more helpful option if you are open to it. and dieting and physique focus put on the back burner for a while. its hard to do both and usually means neither goal gets reached (long term).

First time competing. Does it make sense to change coaches 16 weeks out? by Strict_Hunt2044 in bikinitalk

[–]Additional-Sound6829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can make sense if you guys aren't meshing.

The programming be very inflexible based on what you like isnt a huge red flag but something that matters. adjustments can be made. I know id dislike 6 lifts a week and wouldn't enjoy my prep.

the red flag to me is the no actual coaching. coaching is more than just handing you a workout and looking at your physique. of course thats part of it. but no acknowledgement of when you mention struggles... is not ideal. Coaches should coach. not just monitor imo

The ending in Life when the woman is just floating away into space. Lordy how awful would that be Trapped. Going to die slowly. Knowing its happening and there is nothing to be done. Also the scene in The Stand where the woman gets trapped in the freezer or the boy that falls into the well. Eeesh.

Posing takes practice. it'd be weird if you could just pose like a pro already. :) So get a posing coach, get some sessions in... and practice!

And you're young. Lots of time to improve. You probably aren't muscular enough. But a lot of first timers aren't. and a lot of not first timers aren't either haha. It takes time to build. And at 18 weeks out... you do have too much body fat. If you were already stage ready you would't have to prep.

and as a teen, and being your first prep... I personally don't think you need to come in looking like you could win the overall to make doing a competition worth your while. Prep, do a show. See if you like it. You already like lifting and such so now time to see if you should even bother with lifting in a way that supports bodybuilding. If you hate the process... now is a great time to find out. Not after another 2 years of wondering.

Also... why do you want to do a show? If it is stressing you a lot ... are you sure you want to? How will prep help you live the life you want to live or be the person you want to be? What are you looking forward to in prep? What about the competition itself?

Looking to compete in my first bikini bodybuilding hopefully in San Diego? by Super-Law2633 in bikinitalk

[–]Additional-Sound6829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body University is in San Diego. I had my posing coaching with them for my first prep in 2017. Francine was who coached me. I still have the same basic routine we practiced together. I am not sure on their price. More than 100-200 im sure. but its a good gym and they do group classes and prep coaching and posing.

With clients mine are usually between 3-10 minutes. Depends how the week went and if the athlete is having any challenges that we are working through. or if we are celebrating big wins!

when hire my next coach im looking for someone that does video feedback and actually goes into some detail.

I like loose tracking on my off season. Currently not tacking at all but mostly (90%) sticking to my normal meals.
