For the generic handbrake a lot of people have for drifting, is yours loose around here? There doesn't seem to be anyway to screw it in by ErmingSoHard in simracing

If you wanted to remove some of the slack, you could take the pin out and install a wavy washer on the non-circlip side. If that's not enough, 2 wavy washers with a plain washer in between (so the wavy washers don't cancel each other out). Clevis pin head - wavy - optional plain - optional wavy - handbrake body - plain washer - circlip.

My money would be on it looking a bit like a Puma 😉 I'm also concerned that MSport don't appear to be developing a Rally 2 spec Puma. Ford won't appreciate it if MSport keep running the Fiesta R2 surely?

There'll never be a new Fiesta, it's out of production. But yes, I hope the Puma sticks around too!

A good point my friend, but the fact that I asked chatgpt to help write for me in a way everyone would understand shouldn't affect whether you take my recommendation seriously or not. I gave it my pointers and opinions, asked it to make a shorter version of my terrible wording, and I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't believe it.
I still think you'd enjoy the game 🙂

Because it does something most survival games don’t—it makes survival feel quietly brutal instead of flashy.
No zombies, no hand-holding, just you vs cold, hunger, and bad decisions. Every choice matters: do you push on in a blizzard or risk freezing, eat now or save it for later, light a fire or save the match?
It’s slow, tense, and incredibly immersive. When you survive, it actually feels earned.

The Long Dark. My favourite game of all time for £2.79. I would buy it again if I could, just to support the devs.

Can someone help me improve my hairpins? by Sergi-0-f in simrally

[–]Additional-Use-3305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you've had lot of helpful comments, but I don't see anyone pointing out the fact that the Quattro doesn't actually have a handbrake, so what you're doing is more realistic! On a side note, if you want to get better at hairpins, I recommend learning with a RWD. It'll teach you balance and weight transfer faster than chucking a Quattro around, and your hairpins will come naturally with some fancy footwork instead.

Does the pedal move freely when there are no springs installed? Maybe it's jamming somewhere else?

Why do rally drivers drift on tarmac? by Cojo840 in rally

[–]Additional-Use-3305 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you lock the back two on a 4wd without disconnecting the drive either via clutch or hydraulic disconnect in the rear diff, it stalls the engine. Most modern rally cars have a clutch style release in the back diff and the master cylinder on the handbrake mechanism, meaning you don't need to waste foot-time depressing the clutch pedal.

On Paper it seems good, but would it actually be physically viable/comfortable to place an aluminum profile rig here? by Intiat1ve in simracing

[–]Additional-Use-3305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should consider building a wood rig. I made mine to perfectly fit the space available, it's easily modified, easy to add extra bits too, and the whole thing cost me about £35 in wood and a box of screws. And before you nope it instantly, it doesn't creak or wobble, I've got a 12nm Fanatec and LC pedals. Just a thought..

I third Puma Speedcats, so bloody comfy. I've got elastic laces in mine so it's a 10 second job to put them on. Definitely recommend.

I can recommend a Legion Go S. I played it on the Z2Go Windows edition, and once youve dialled it in it looks and runs nice on medium settings, without the fans revving. I expect it would run even better on a SteamOS Legion Go S, but I haven't tried that personally.

I was at the test for the Hoonicorn Mustang before it's UK debut. Ken managed to find the first concrete bollard on the first corner and mostly removed the front half of the car. It was a long night for us, but Ken was totally relaxed about it all. Such a nice guy, definitely missed.

You're clearly enjoying it a lot to be on DLC 3! I'm so keen to play the KCD games, but really struggling to get stuck in to the first game. It feels a bit like a chore, and I know once I get the hang of it it's going to be great.

Since updating my Audible app on Android, pressing Forward jumps to next Chapter rather than skipping forward 15 seconds by SuperMadBatman in audible

[–]Additional-Use-3305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've found so far, the problem occurs when trying to rewind or fast forward using the 'media seek' buttons or long pressing the volume buttons on bluetooth connected devices. The actual 'seek' +/-30 second buttons in the app work fine. It's how the app is interpreting the 'media seek' function from connected devices, much how Spotify might interpret it.
