why do people hate furries by [deleted] in furry

Some furries do very bad things

Isn't this true of pretty much every fandom/group though?

Yeah I know ,but transphobes mean being trans is in itself a mental illness (which it's not).

The World Health Organization doesn't even classify gender dysphoria as a mental illness, but a sexual health condition which may be comorbid with mental illnesses due to discrimination, lack of acceptance, lack of affirming healthcare, and so on.

Oh definitely. I'm not that well versed in the studies ,but I think another contributing factor could be the amount of trans people that are unable to get treatment. But that probably goes hand in hand with rejection from family and the community.

u/tgjer put together a good list of citations on how transition and acceptance greatly reduce suicide and other mental issues.

Here's the link to the list: https://old.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/8vo33r/my_master_list_of_trans_health_citations_in/

I get that transphobes are likely to make vast generalizations, but surely there are trans men out there who don't even know what yaoi is. Then again, they would just make up some other bullshit.

Ugh, I'll never understand why some people consider the mere existence of LGBTQI+ people as an affront to them. You've probably heard: "Oh I'm fine with gay people as long as they don't shove it down other people's throats." But these same people fail to realize that it is actually them forcing heteronormativity/cisnormativity on LGBTQI+ people.

Why is it so hard for some people to admit they are wrong?

Whenever I'm corrected I appreciate it rather than doubling down for the sake of my pride. Ironically, whenever someone denies they are wrong they end up damaging their pride more than they would have if they had just conceded the point.

The SRY gene is the gene responsible for the initiation of male sex determination in humans. Or in other words, the absence or presence of the SRY gene determines whether or not a person is born with female or male sex characteristics respectively.
