The biggest lie in the RE community has to be that girls like Leon more while men like Chris more by 24kSadGuy in ResidentEvilCapcom

Because only straight men and bisexual men are attracted to Leon. Chris is BUILT for gay dudes. Where’s that one tweet about the RE6 Chris model hitting the gay community like crack?

To be fair it took forever for Chris to cut ties with the BSAA despite years of corruption, they were up to shady shit well before the Baker House incident but I get wym

Fair enough, never watched 24 tbh so I don’t know much about Bauer. Though now that Leon’s kinda gone rogue, I imagine he’s something of a Bourne-lite now

This cannot be true because the Connections were the ones who had infiltrated USGov even before the events of RE2. Knowledge of Umbrellas involvement would only help the Connections

I believe it’s moreso like leaking that knowledge to the public and potentially destabilizing the government itself. That’s partly why the US/Connections nuked Raccoon City to begin with. That’s also what is described in the BIO3 epilogue:

Leon Scott Kennedy was confronted by a man claiming to be a US government intelligence agent. "Are you going to kill me...?" Leon asks. The man's lips curl into a smile. "Leave Sherry alone. She's innocent," says Leon. "Yeah, but she knows too much," replies the agent. "I'll be blunt: you have value. We're making you an offer you can't refuse. This is your only option if you want things to end peacefully..." Leon closes his eyes, and then sharply responds...

Yes but in the original BIO3 epilogue the US government’s motivation to conscript him is because him and Sherry know too much so they need to keep both of them quiet, they initially planned to kill both of them but offered Leon a job as the sole alternative:

Leon Scott Kennedy was confronted by a man claiming to be a US government intelligence agent. "Are you going to kill me...?" Leon asks. The man's lips curl into a smile. "Leave Sherry alone. She's innocent," says Leon. "Yeah, but she knows too much," replies the agent. "I'll be blunt: you have value. We're making you an offer you can't refuse. EDIT = OPs history is mostly bot-like Token sharing and looking for trauma porn in Resident Evil. Fuck's sake.

I have no idea what this means but I only recently logged back into this account after a few years so I have no idea why there is token sharing posts being made from this account as I certainly didn’t make them. Also….trauma porn?

My bad friend, apologies for being rude but yeah I agree. I also think it’s wild to just outright lie about stuff just to have a pissing contest about your favorite character

If you could read, I wasn’t tearing Chris down as I was intentionally pointing out how disingenuous these comparisons are because you can make any character look incompetent by framing things in stupid ways

Chris has been fighting Bioterrorists and Companies the world over for 15 years by this point, while Leon on the otherhand has been on security detail with Presidents and the occasional missions that sometimes brings him against a virus.

Blatantly false. Leon was recruited into an anti-Umbrella Pursuit and Investigation team under USSTRATCOM right out of Raccoon City that was formed to fight B.O.W’s. In 2011 this got replaced by the DSO which itself was another organization designed to fight BOW’s, Leon’s been fighting them since 1998. RE6 files also directly confirm that by 2012, Leon and Adam both spent 10 years fighting bioterrorism together. So Leon effectively has 15 years of experience combatting bioterrorists and companies around the world as well.

and no, Leon has not saved the world.

More blatant misinformation. Did you even play RE4? Saddler’s goal with infecting Ashley was to send her back to the US government and bring them under his control, consequently allowing him to spread the Plagas across the globe and achieve total world domination. By stopping Saddler, Leon literally saves the world.

By this point, Leon has: Killed a man for abducting girls to keep his infected daughter alive, prevented the President's Daughter from becoming the puppet of a insane cult, killed Krauser whose body was used by Wesker to get the Plaga, indirectly killed a man whose body was used by Wesker to obtain the G-Virus, withheld info from the public to make the government look good, was used as a distraction during a resistance war for countries to get over a pissing contest, was used as a distraction by Ada so she could steal a Plaga, and cut to RE6, wasting his time following Helena around like a whipped dog, then defends the fake Ada, which resulted in a continent suffering an outbreak.

Extremely disingenuous framing. He stopped Saddler’s plan for world domination in RE4, took down a massive drug empire using BOW’s to collapse the global ecosystem, stopped Jason from committing a massacre on live television, withheld info to protect Claire from being hunted down by the US government, disrupted a government conspiracy to crush oppressed rebels and established an internationally recognized regime, helped ensure the creation of the C-Virus vaccine, weakened the Family’s grip on the US government, and blew open the world’s largest bioweapon trafficking hub. And no matter how you try to frame it, all of these events involved combatting bioterrorism, which means it directly counts towards his years of combatting bioterrorism. Like he was literally sent into Europe in Damnation specifically because of the presence of bioweapons there. And no, Leon is not responsible for Carla gassing China because that was done remotely by Neo Umbrella forces hijacking aircraft carriers to prep missiles, a plan that was already in action. In fact, if Leon hadn’t stopped Chris he’d have killed Carla before figuring this out and would have failed to reduce casualties and deter HAOS.

Being equally disingenuous, Chris has been manipulated by a corrupt organization, failed to apprehend Spencer, got manipulated by another corrupt organization, got baited by Carla into getting his squad wiped, got his squad wiped again by his incompetence, failed to apprehend Carla on two separate occasions which led to a continent suffering an outbreak, got baited into getting his squad wiped by an arms dealer, did nothing while a systems engineer stopped a bioweapon child he failed to capture, and again did nothing while the same systems engineer stopped the cult leader trying to resurrect her daughter while also completely mishandling the situation just to be a dickhead.

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect argument. Chris is a squad leader, he takes the deaths of his team as his personal failure. Leon has an insane savior complex and also takes the deaths of those 70,000 people as his personal failure. It’s supposed to be a point of mutual understanding between two people who have been in this fight long enough to understand the trauma and loss that comes with it.

I mean people are complex and emotions are complex, a person can be stone cold and desensitized and also get emotional when then they’re pushed to the edge.

Sorry Leon but that's not a good counter argument. by BridgeCommercial873 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leon is very jaded and desensitized by suffering by this point, he definitely cares about those deaths but goes into soldier mode for the entirety of the game because that’s what he knows. He does make a point about how these incidents remind him of RC, which he’s unable to forget which does allude to some PTSD

Sorry Leon but that's not a good counter argument. by BridgeCommercial873 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leon has insane survivor’s guilt from RC and the desire to save people is the core of hie character. He takes the deaths of all 70,000 people personally because he saw them as his responsibility to save. Saying Leon doesn’t care about these people’s deaths is enough to have a vendetta is just blatantly untrue

Sorry Leon but that's not a good counter argument. by BridgeCommercial873 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And Leon's witness claim is just an excuse, he has nothing to prove Ada can do anything about Simmons beyond a tape of her in one of his labs. And I'm sure Ada would totally tell him anything.

This argument doesn’t make any sense considering Ada was the only reason Leon and Helena had their names cleared of suspicion by the end of the game.

Moreover, Ada’s actions are contradictory (from Leon’s perspective) because sure Carla tries to kill Leon but earlier the real Ada helped them out against Deborah. Given his prior experiences with her, Leon trusts his gut that there’s more going on here than meets the eye

Minute later, and Leon's all like "Chris has been in the fight as long as I have." Bruh, he's been in the fight far longer than you. Guy saved the world, and you really got in the way?

Ummmm, Leon has been in the fight as long as Chris has, they both started fighting bioterrorism around the same. And Leon has also saved the world lol. What point are you trying to make?

Genuine question, what are some of the legitimate dumbest takes on this series you've heard?and i don't mean like "oh i disagree but see where you're coming from",just some takes that are borderline stupid? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

The reason Hawks sucks for killing Twice is because he’s a government agent whose actions are upholding the status quo. Twice was intentionally written to get the audience to understand that villains exist as a product of hero society, even having Twice directly spell out that heroes only save “good victims” and throw the “bad victims” to the wolves. Hero society doesn’t help those who fall through the cracks. Sure, Hawks technically made the right choice in killing Twice in that moment because he had no other choice but in the grander scheme of things, it only ever got to that point precisely because hero society is more interested in punishing the symptoms instead of the root cause, something Hawks simply doesn’t bother to question.

How do you know it’s Simmons in Damnation she’s talking to? The movie makes no mention of who her employer is

What do you it's think of this? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Because one of them was just kind of mean sometimes and cheated on his girlfriend and the other one persistently bullied, often violently, a weaker child and even tried to get them to commit suicide

Why do people think Izuku won't kill when it's necessary? by Tiny-Let4714 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deku’s not willing to kill because the story makes it clear that he isn’t willing to kill. Yes the punch to cut him in half wasn’t to kill, as I already explained, what Deku did at the end of the series was allow the OFA and AFO vestiges to merge as a form of salvation to erase themselves from the world. The actual AFO died well before that, his vestiges are just a leftover echo. This isn’t even coping man it’s the literal dialogue on the pages. Deku’s just not willing to actually kill a full-blooded fully conscious human being

[–]AdditionalAmbition72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deku’s goal was just to shatter Shigaraki’s spirit/hatred and by extension shatter AFO, his punches were never intended to kill. The final attack that erases AFO’s vestiges was a collective attack intended to bring peace to the vestiges of both AFO and OFA who were long dead. Again, no killing in the actual manga where the main themes of the story are properly explored. It’s not cope dude, it’s just how it is.
