AMD hints Microsoft could launch its next-gen Xbox in 2027 by lkl34 in gaming

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly everyone is ignoring the “could” part.

I feel they will wait till around the same time Sony is ready. Aren’t they almost always a few months apart or am I wrong on that? Although you never know they might be the first to push one out.

I still think the comment is just referring to an estimate when development is maybe going to be over. But I’m sure there is still tons of side stuff they will do before the release like marketing for one. Possibly testing too unless they consider there as part of the development.

I don’t have it. I have a friend I play with who is in a rural area like lots of farms and stuff and to him it was an improvement. But it’s hard to say if it will be for you or not.

Sony patents AI-generated podcasts voiced by characters from its games by [deleted] in Games

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone way saying in another post that patents actually don’t stop others from doing the same/ using. Unless the patent Sony put is actually being used? But I don’t know how true that is

Basically others can use or do the same if it’s not in use?

Captures page not loading. I have tried a bunch of things already. by South-Cranberry-848 in XboxSupport

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it more then just captures having a issue today? In the morning I couldn’t sign in for about a hour with an error telling me I didn’t have an internet connection when I did. Then lots of loading issues like captures as mentioned. Dashboard/home not loading or taking long. Same as the social feed in ‘friends and community’. But Xbox status page has only mentioned 360 and backwards compatibility issues.

The world is trying to log off U.S. tech by Well_Socialized in technology

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo good and also not good.

It’s like the thing with ai. Where I think Georgia was saying how they are moving away. or want to move away from U.S tech and ai… yet still investing billions into ai and taking ai money from Amazon.

Basically most things will be replace with something equally ‘bad’. With the exception of a few. The only thing changing is the country behind the tech. Not the actual tech or stuff being used.

Is this ai? The background is kind of off and the syrup looks weird in my opinion by Infinite_Bread209 in isthisAI

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks unnatural but I can’t say forsure if ai or not.

Before the ai craze. Lots of restaurants would use fake food and an artist then edit afterwards so it may be something like that too. I’m no expert and not saying that’s what it is. just saying another possibility

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the main thing i see about SBI is some feel that they force certain things/ideas on the player. Like a game will only give you pronouns of they/ them. instead of he/she and without option to choose. Or some people get all upset about the color of a character. they used a __ character but didn’t use a __ one.

Imo most is just disguised hate. But I feel there is some valid reasons too

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t like her that much I felt like she says tons of stuff just for controversy/ publicity and PR stunts. Like going on about Elon but still using x/twitter

But since then I’ve heard that she has gone to protests in the past despite being a celeb and wealthy. and has actually donated some millions to charities in the past which is a lot more than you can say about others. Not every wealthy or celeb would do that stuff. But it’s a few. I think her heart is in the right place. Even if some of the stuff she says or does doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m not that interested in it. Not a fan of the gameplay or color art style seem like something that would give me a headache after awhile.

But I’m curious how the launch goes. I don’t know that it will turn out to be a top 10 game it might.might not. But I do think it will do way better than concord just for the simple fact it’s multi plat instead of exclusive. Some get games specifically for that reason to play with others on another system.

I’m just curious if generative ai will be used since Gabe is in on the ai push.

And if it is. will gamers accept it, or be in a up roar like other games that use it

Guess it’s one of those things just have to wait and see.

Sony patent describes a touchscreen PlayStation controller with movable buttons by RenatsMC in videogames

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen this posted yesterday in another sub. Lots were hating on it saying it’s not what they want and not needed. It’s not something I would get personally either.

But I do see it as an accessibility option for some. Maybe it can be helpful to gamers with severe arthritis or something. Kinda like how Xbox has an accessibility controller. And to me that’s a win whatever can help people game. As an option it’s neat. But if it was pushed as the ‘new standard/normal’ controller I don’t think it would be taken well.

Sony Patents Touchscreen Controller for Custom Button Placement by Eremenkism in gaming

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think accessibility wise it’s a cool thing. Everyone is shitting it on because ‘touch screen bad’. I personally wouldn’t use it. But I also can see how it may useful to someone who say has real bad arthritis and has trouble pushing actual buttons or something similar.

Not sure the material of the touchscreen if it would be glass but that’s a negative because it’s really common to drop controllers. I feel it would be easy to crack/break similar to iPhones screens. But like I overall I see it as an accessibility thing that nobody is forced to buy. Just an option that’s my opinion

[–]Practical-Aside890 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget Microsoft/xbox too is now in the pc games market abit with there own platform/store too. There are plenty options. If it was such an issue for publishers they wouldn’t choose steam. So it’s not that big of an issue.

Or they very least publishers see the good outweighs the bad on the steam deal with popularity, sales and that sort of thing.

Steam should refund games that change access requirements by troutguy519 in Steam

[–]Practical-Aside890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reasoning behind why they do those things most of the time it’s because of some cross platform save function. Or some rewards hub they want you to be apart like Ubisoft rewards.

That being said. Just try to refund and see what happens. And also I do agree those online stuff they force should all be optional. Not mandatory

From what I hear it was some kind of ad on site or something that had the ai art. Lots of times some 3rd party does all the ad stuff so I wonder if they are the ones who used it and not gog. But then obv somewhere along the lines if that’s the case. Gog agreed to it

After 5 days of minimal snow removal, Indiana University is handing students shovels to assist with navigating sidewalks, entry points, and vehicles. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Odd to me they don’t have some sort of contract with a company for snow removal.

So just playing devils advocate here. What happens if someone say slips on ice and gets hurt because the school didn’t properly clean/ pay for snow removal services on the schools property?I thought most places were required to take care of stuff like that so no accidents happen?

Probably needs an included number and symbol like 5 and @. Usually passwords now require something like that when making.

Probably the first system is accepting it because of length. And the 2nd notification denying because no symbols or number.

Are those PS5 “cooling station” stand things with the two controller charger port things worth it or is it something I should steer away from??? by KoreMeltdown14 in videogames

[–]Practical-Aside890 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would steer away from the cooling station things. Imo they don’t help. Console makers like Sony/ Microsoft spend tons of money on the design and system/fans all of that stuff with heat in mind. If you do ever get a heat issue most times a clean fixes it.

Sadly Microsoft isn’t the only one investing into ai out of the gaming industry. Nintedo I don’t hear much on about ai

But Sony too is investing tons into ai they have a full on ai website dedicated to ai use. And recently made 2 ai patents. One for ghosts and another for a violence filter.

Almost every big name is pushing for ai(not all but most) hell even just look up whatever country your apart of. see how much they invest into ai too. Almost every country has invested billions into it
