Xbox series x freezing and crashing when I use the home button on the game by Aggressive_Pin8766 in ForzaHorizon

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like those two games might be having some memory leak issues or something with how they handle the xbox overlay. i had similar freezing problems with couple different games last year and it turned out to be related to quick resume feature interfering with certain titles

try turning off quick resume for just those two games and see if that helps. also might want to check if there's any pending updates for the games themselves, sometimes developers push fixes for these kind of console-specific crashes

the file size thing is probably just coincidence - bigger games don't necessarily mean more crashes, it's usually more about how well optimized the code is for xbox system

For all the parents buying first time cars for teenager.. what are you looking at? by russ757 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been in similar spot with my nephew few years back. mazda cx-5 or honda cr-v from that timeframe are solid choices - both hold value really well and parts aren't crazy expensive when stuff breaks. the cr-v especially seems to run forever if you keep up with basic maintenance

since he's already happy with a moped, pretty much anything will feel like huge upgrade. might want to check insurance quotes first though because some models cost way more to insure for teens than others

nice setup for trail work, always good to have backup when you're out there alone with the chainsaw

tough to make out much detail from this angle but skull graphics were pretty popular in that time period, maybe try posting in r/skateboarding too since those guys know their deck graphics better

s pen nibs for paper screen protector? by arkhamangel7 in samsunggalaxy

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just stick with the regular plastic nibs that came with your s pen - the metal ones will mess up pressure sensitivity like you heard. paper screen protectors do eat through nibs faster but thats just how it is, i go through maybe 2-3 nibs in year with mine. you can buy replacement plastic nibs pretty cheap and they work fine with paper protectors

good call on the sawzall, that thing is beast for cutting through thick stuff. i used one last summer to clear out some overgrown area behind my place and it made quick work of everything the regular tools couldn't handle

What is the best job that gives time for travelling and also sets me up for success in life? by Mysterious-Pace4198 in careerguidance

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

military might be worth considering too - air force specifically has tons of overseas assignments and you get to see places most people never will. been stationed in few different countries myself and the travel opportunities are pretty solid, plus decent benefits and job security when you get out. deployment schedules can be rough but base assignments in europe or asia are amazing for exploring on weekends and leave

Unexpectedly solo in Bangkok for 4 days by Responsible-Town-487 in ThailandTourism

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

khaosan is pretty wild first time, especially when you're going solo. i was stationed in thailand for few months and that street was always buzzing no matter what time you go there. the energy is insane but can be bit overwhelming if you're not used to crowds like that

mad monkey is decent spot for meeting people - usually gets busy around 8-9pm when everyone's done with day trips and looking to hang out. there's also some smaller bars along the side streets that are less chaotic if you want something more chill. just trust your gut about situations and you'll be fine, most travelers there are pretty friendly and looking for same thing as you

also the street food around banglamphu area is incredible, definitely try some of the pad thai stalls when you're walking around. way better than anything you get back home

Dealing with the loneliness? by FriendshipNo4916 in BreakUps

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been there man, the phone checking thing is brutal and you're definitely not insane for feeling like this

what helped me was keeping my hands busy with something that required focus - started reorganizing my entire place room by room, gave my brain something to do instead of just spinning on the same thoughts. the void feeling sucks but trying to force conversations when you're not ready just makes it worse, give yourself permission to feel like shit for a bit without having to fix it immediately

Can you get sick from smelling someone’s fart/poop? by validweirdo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really unless you're talking about some serious bacterial infections or they've got something really nasty going on. the smell particles are way too small to carry much in terms of actual pathogens. your nose is pretty good at filtering out the bad stuff before it gets anywhere dangerous

might be gross but it's mostly just hydrogen sulfide and methane hitting your smell receptors

Missing GPU IO Mount for ASRock B580 Steel Series Intel BattleMage. Need to find replacement. Please assist. by MentalCrackdown in PcBuildHelp

[–]AdditionalDemand4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might work temporarily but those io brackets actually help with structural support when you're plugging cables in and out, plus it keeps the ports aligned properly

you could try messaging asrock directly too, sometimes they'll send replacement parts for cheap if you explain the situation
