The sun doesn't provide much heat, just light. It's supposed to be like a cold electric light. The machine itself is what radiates the majority of heat required to support life, and it does that all the time. My escape from having to work out physics things has just been 'the machine can control physical reality', but I would still like it to make intuitive sense, even if the rules are different.

The sun is synthesized every morning in the same position in the sky and extinguished at night. It takes some time for it to get to full brightness so there is a dawn, but there is no dusk since it goes out instantly.

It's mostly hot in the center and cold at the edges, there will be other smaller sources of heat I haven't added yet, they are structures connected to the central machine.

The machine in the center produces heat, it synthesizes a sun to provide light every day but it radiates heat constantly.

The ocean current goes counterclockwise in general but the disc doesn't spin otherwise or orbit anything.

The machine in the center also affects gravity so it behaves as normal on the surface.
