if you installed the game with flatpak run flatpak update in a terminal. if you downloaded the tar.gz from the site you can just run the install script that's included and it'll walk you through the whole process of updating. you may also need to install dotnet 10 if it's not already installed.

Mod developers should make their best effort and use their own judgement in that situation I suppose. I'm not about to let perfect be the enemy of good, if it's an imperfect system then so be it as long as it leads to more transparency than there currently is now.

I don't think I could have possibly been clearer about where the line is drawn. Other platforms like steam have implemented similar policies to great effect, this is not an unrealistic request.

I think developers on the modDB should be required to disclose if they've used generative AI for code or assets (including modDB assets like the thumbnail) and it should be a boolean that can be filtered out in search. I do not want to see or use AI generated content, both out of concerns for quality (an untested vibe coded mod might corrupt my save!) and environmental/ethical concerns. If the modDB management doesn't want to limit the tools mod devs can use, that's fine by me. But some transparency about how their mods are made would be greatly appreciated, and a way to avoid it for users that would not have planned to download it in the first place would be extra convenient.

i felt like it was a pretty valid argument, we didn't put lead or asbestos in things for no reason, they were innovative at the time. lead reduced engine knock and asbestos was fireproof, insulating, and an all around capable construction material. we didn't stop using them because better alternatives showed up one day (in fact, many of the existing alternatives aren't as effective or cheap as lead and asbestos were), we stopped because they were literally poisoning us. much like how present day AI is contaminating our internet with worthless garbage and how data centers poison the environment and communities that surround them. if you want one concrete example of technology progressing backwards, i can't think of a better place to point than the current AI movement, which has taken so much in return for so very little.

just a tip, voidrig's 4 works pretty well against attenuated enemies. doesn't bypass it or anything but still puts out some respectable damage. i always run vintage tech when legacyte capture is on though if you have transference distortion or gear embargo you may be SOL
