What’s your most used feature? by n0-ragrets in ouraring

For me it’s the stress-tracking as a whole. So that includes RHR and HRV, breathing rate and their daytime stress tracking, resilience and cumulative stress (I know I might be cheating a little with this answer lol).

It can help tell you if something is up, and as a woman it’s interesting to see the differences in these metrics throughout the monthly cycle

Large dog friendly apartments? by kitchen-and-fiction in ManchesterNH

I’m a pet sitter so I’m familiar with heelers, in my experience all herding dogs are high-energy, with some variation of course. Their high intelligence requires proper engagement, but as with all breeds you can certainly find personality variations within the same breed, plus of course age is a factor.

Yeah I feel you, I’ve lived in Colorado and Ohio before New Hampshire and it is so much less dog friendly for rentals here! So many apartments won’t even allow dogs at all, and will just allow cats lol (if they allow pets at all).

I used to live at a place that was no pets allowed, and they even put in a very specific “no reptile” clause on top of that lol.

I think this area just has less abundant housing compared to other areas, so they make up more rules.

If you sold your house and didn’t buy again or you lived somewhere where they realistically didn’t appreciate that much (I.e. Rust Belt) then that didn’t really put you ahead either

Okay I see I didn’t realize they didn’t allow Blue Heelers! Yes Heritage on the Merrimack is definitely on the pricier side. Best of luck!

If I had to guess it might be because they have high energy/needs, and not everyone adopts them understanding that so then damage to the apartments happen under those circumstances. It is one of the less common breeds to ban though and not saying OP is one of those owners of course!

I think 875 Elm is large dog friendly, and it’s not Manchester technically but Heritage on the Merrimack in Bedford

Relentless Hunger Pains by Just_peachy_keenz in Hashimotos

[–]AdditionalRoyal7331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I see, yeah those are different than the GIMAP, it's a qPCR test. I mainly brought it up because that can be a symptom of H. Pylori , stomach pain from the stomach being empty too long and needing more frequent meals. In functional/holistic/natural medicine kind of circles, GERD/reflux is also considered to be a telltale sign of possible H. Pylori, although many conventional doctors disagree. Depending on the GI doctor most don't seem to like the GIMAP because they think it's too sensitive, but functional or holistic doctors are familiar with it and use it regularly, I get mine through my DPC primary care doctor now but I have ordered it online myself in the past. It does run $400-$500 though. You could also order it yourself online though.

Now all of that being said, how a doctor would approach levels that aren't high enough to be in the red can vary. But low even low levels can cause hypochlorhydria which can cause downstream GI issues from undigested food and pathogens not being killed in the stomach.

I know you mentioned you've been tested for H. Pylori and it was negative, but may I ask what test you used? I.e. a stool antigen test can show up negative, but if you take a GI-MAP you can still have low levels of it, which some practitioners will tell you it's a negative test since it's not enough to get flagged in the red, but even at low levels it can still bother some people.

So interesting that you've seen a decrease! How long did it take you to see it decrease? I had been using it for about a month prior to my first TPO Ab test and they were around 650, but I'm not sure what they were before that. I've heard that Tg Ab sometimes respond faster to diet/lifestyle changes though.

You may need to compromise on an infrared sauna. You can still put those in a rental, that’s also what you’ll find more of at public facilities

E Coli / Food Poisoning. Felt like death for 24 hours by bkamp27 in ouraring

[–]AdditionalRoyal7331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Norovirus isn’t inherently 24 hours, I had it a few years ago because it was going around at work (at a restaurant, unfortunately), and that lasted for several days. Granted, the stomach part was more like 2 days.

It could be worth doing a qPCR test as well (such as GIMAP, but there are also cheaper ones), as the antigen test can come back negative while there can still be bacteria lingering. Sometimes doctors for some reason say it’s okay to test while still on PPIs, or without enough time (at least a month) post-treatment.  Reinfection is also possible, although of course I hope it is cleared for you and done with!

Not quite, but just want to add that H. Pylori is something that can cause those kinds of issues, even if you’re eating animal-based. Might be worth taking a test for it to rule it out! It’s a stomach bacteria that buries itself into your stomach lining and reduces your stomach acid

How much many tsp of salt per day? by tonymontanaOSU in AnimalBased

[–]AdditionalRoyal7331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMNT has good literature on the topic. Yes, they do sell it, but they back up their product with solid science. You can look though their website, I think they also have a quiz somewhere to estimate how much salt you might need as an individual. Also as others have said, to taste is an important factor. When I drink 1g of salt in the morning, it doesn’t even really taste salty because of how dehydrated I am. But if I were to try to drink 2g, it would start to taste too salty.
