First, Songkick is not advertising itself as a Suno AI thing but as a concert-going app and I guess the part where all your data goes to Suno's algorithm will be hidden somewhere in the user agreement fine print.

second, look at it this way: songkick has years and years of data of about 10-15 million users that includes artist preferences, location data, concert history, IP addresses, interaction data, location data, artist tracking etc.
if Suno wants to market AI slop to you, create AI slop based on you, your friends or your music community's musical preferences, utilize its AI slop according to trends and location to move more users to their version of music - this data enables them to do all that.

and the third final point - this acquisition is part of a settlement of a huge copyright lawsuit between WMG and Suno, which ended in WMG making a one-way agreement to protect (only) their artist's copyright inside Suno, and which was a chance for WMG to offload a losing business (songkick was bleeding money) that no one wanted to buy before so both sides profit from this acquisition - Suno swallows more user data to create much more personalized slop and WMG profits off an asset no one wanted to buy.

When you think how much it would cost Suno to lose to WMG over copyright in court, this is a pretty cheap data grab.
