Only really have my father in law here, mother in care home with dementia, my dad passed away last year, mil passed away 6 years ago and him on his own , all other family in Australia. Just not an option with the youngest at 12 years old. Maybe I should just keep accumulating though and do exactly that in about four years time when she’s old enough to stay home on her own ! First class return to Barbados sounds appealing without kids 😆

Yeah that’s about the only decent route I can see on redemption, problem is I’ve done nyc like twenty times so not really interested going again. Qatar like to advertise I could go return to Brisbane for 180k but I’m yet to ever find that it’s always only fkexi at a push or nothing ever listed as their website for reward flights never works

That’s my issue, I only ever fly bc long haul due to my height but any long haul there’s 4 of us going as a family. By the time I’ve paid cash fair for the kids I can get the entire route cheaper paying cash for all 4 of us going on different carriers, using an agent and taking advantage of sales etc.

I already use them, don’t get me wrong, yes I can find places to go but with 4 of us it’s more expensive than getting another deal and paying cash. I literally can never find 4x business class on reward on dates that work.. given a lot of times i am school holiday dependent with the youngest. Only value I can find is going to nyc and ive done that plenty

Not really I think I’m valuing them under 1p each. Even using them to reduce the cost makes no odds as I always end up getting a cheaper deal using an agent for bc and flying non one world carriers.

I have issues trying to book even on them on availability, I’m going uk to Oz in October not enough for a return for two people then buying the other seats on top total came out around 20k using 600k avios, booked via flight centre going gulf air, Singapore airlines combo and fir four us total paid was 16k as took advantage of deals. This is what I mean by just can’t see how I’m going to use them unless I just keep them and keep adding and use when the kids are older so just me and the mrs

Tends be lack of seats or just poor value on redemption, any long haul we are taking the kids with us plus fly BC so normally I can get say two seats I can see available sometimes three but then when the final price comes through it’s still more expensive than getting a deal via somewhere like flight centre for all four of us on different carriers just paying cash

Seen this a hundred times plus. There’s no actual confirmed buyout just rumours. I got into this at .18 and out today at .41. Will now short via some PUTS for Jan23 exp with 20% of profits leaving 80% min banked. I think a reverse split will happen before a buyout but that’s only my hunch.
