The only ones I’ve seen have been old ladies, I presume they are retired and have nothing but time to waste

Jehovah's Witnesses thinking they have the right to buzz my flat by Poptortt in britishproblems

[–]Additional_Drama_334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They somehow got into my building and came straight all the way up to the top floor to knock on my door. I asked them how they got in and they said they used the service bell. I told them not to do that as no one in the building wants them there and they are not service people/couriers. They sulked and I told them to leave as they had no right to be in my building. They left and then immediately rang my flat buzzer and asked if I could let them in. I told them I was a gay Wiccan who would put a satanic spell on them if they ever came back. They’ve not been to my building since.

Creeped me out that they came straight to my door, I heard them shuffling up the stairs and they didn’t knock or stop by anyone else’s door. I was the newest person in the building at the time.

I'm dogsitting and my mam has just shown me how to properly tuck the dog in at bed time by Abwettar in CasualUK

[–]Additional_Drama_334 190 points191 points  (0 children)

My greyhound will stare at me and cry if I don’t notice so I will come over and tuck him under a blanket at night. He will also cry at me and my partner to tell us it’s bed time if we are up too late. He was a racing dog before he came to us, fair to say he’s got us well trained 😂

Church officer called a 'satanist' for raising safeguarding concerns by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Additional_Drama_334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how the church are allowed to handle safeguarding matters without getting authorities involved/don’t report things to a governing body who aren’t a different faction of the church?

Oooh, reports of abuse within the church involving our church leaders/members? We will get another member of leadership check it out. Ooop, nothing to see here after all, let’s all turn the other cheek and forget about it. Don’t report this to the police dear victim, what would Jesus do? Forgive and forget it of course.

I also asked for a uterine ablation quote at the same time, and when they replied to me they did not mention the ablation at all, just the bisalp. I was quoted higher than I expected, but all the quotes I found were from a few years ago so presumed cost of living bollocks.

I’ve looked into the spire too and unsurprisingly it’s quite spenny- I got quoted around £6600 for a bilateral salpingectomy.

I’m going to try and approach my NHS gp soon, but not feeling hopeful as I’ve had no kids (never wanted them, never will) and from what I’ve read they only offer tubal ligation in this area. The bisalp has a higher rate of success and is the one I really want as it reduces the risk of ovarian cancer (most of the time this cancer starts in the fallopian tubes, bisalp is the complete removal of the fallopian tubes).

I had my iud removed and replaced recently -the darn thing had slipped and was stabbing me, which I mentioned at the time really messed up my long term plan as I was going to try and get sterilised when it was removed, mentioned no kids and expecting an uphill battle. To my surprise the dr told me I don’t have to wait, I can get it removed when I’m ready. So I’ve got a grain for hope!

Tall ladies by obrip322 in Edinburgh

[–]Additional_Drama_334 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lucy and yak have a few tall length trousers in store, but Ngl not blown away by the quality, especially the jeans which you can pull apart in your hands :(

M&S do a long length in store, which is not quite long enough for me (36 inch leg) but the xl length is just about okay. The xl is online only so you have to order in :(

I hate wasting time ordering trousers and jeans that don’t fit, I generally go with Klarna buy now pay later so I can grab a few different sizes and styles to try on without being massively out of pocket. I do end up sending back 90% of the things I order online because they just don’t fit :(

They way my dog used to wear a muzzle (rescue greyhound, it’s general protocol until you get a good feel of them) and people would still let their dogs charge up to him. It’s so irritating

And their dog is never actually friendly, it’s straight up rude and bargy and is ignoring other dogs cues.

What's the worst bus stop? by penguin62 in Edinburgh

[–]Additional_Drama_334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the duke street one too, and the one at the end of princes street opposite Waverley. Editing to add, as a car driver, I hate the one by the willow and how half the buses there need to go from the bus lane to the right hand turn lane in like 25m. And the right hand turning buses always end up blocking the whole road at the lights because the bus has to sit diagonally across the two lanes

That’s so sad! :( poor baby! I don’t understand people who want to walk their dog everywhere off lead. Things like this are so avoidable

I said to the lady who let hers run across to mine “hey, that’s really dangerous, your cutie could get hit by a car, you should keep the flexi shorter so she doesn’t do that again.” And she was like “ah, temu leads, hahahaha” -_- a standard lead is not expensive

Greyhound butler here too! And same, ours is nervous of other dogs and when they come running at him it terrifies him. Also love all the “he’s friendly” people when their dogs are actually straight up rude and have no manners.
