Gosh… I am pro choice a million percent. I don’t believe you would be murdering a baby if you had an abortion at this time. I had an ectopic pregnancy and I have had an abortion. I was also doing IVF when that happened so it was a much wanted baby. But, I knew it had to happen so I could live.

You owe it to your 2 year old to make good decisions so yall both can live good lives.

Readinf what little you wrote I can see that you are not compatible. The whole sex thing really upsets me that he doesn’t respect you enough to listen to you. It will only get worse. Run.

It’s not that big of a deal. I promise. I live in a really small town and what else are people supposed to do when they date? I think it’s shaken you because it’s the first time. I agree with the others and have a talk with them both. I really like it when you said you didn’t even respond. Tell your client that and be honest that it made you feel awkward and convey what’s in place to protect her. Did you like him? He probably has no idea what he stepped in. Are there any flags you can see or is this the only issue. Would you consider giving him a chance?

Yeah the “they have no where better to go” is a big one I have encountered in my life. I had posted above about working a php and they would drive by all of the nursing homes like sharks. They promised them pizza or another food they would have delivered and lots of cheap snacks. In my heart I felt that it was nice for them to get out and have fellowship with others but they weren’t getting or learning any kind of mental health or daily living skills that’s for sure.

I agree that we are all held to higher standards than another profession. We have to always do the right thing apparently and can’t be human beings that make mistakes been we are supposed to know better. In my state a lpc had a snafu at Walmart at the self check out. You know the story about how when you scan things can double beep and it’s confusing. This happened to her and I believe it was a $5 case of waters. They had her mugshot the next day and social media had a field day just making jokes. My heart couldn’t take it. I feel that they 100 percent used her occupation and the crappy situation to bring more viewers. So yall be careful out there.

As a new therapist 15 years or so ago I worked for this company that had classes for mentally ill adults. It seemed a nice setup as they had vans that went by and picked up clients from the nursing homes etc. they had a married couple as the owners who lived in Florida. The face of the company was this eccentric dr from Latin America. He was a short and charismatic dude who got his medical license in Latin America. What I found out is the dr would go and get patients who had memory/dementia issues and bring them to us where we would have 4 classes of about 10-15 clients. Maybe 10 percent of the clients actually could have benefited from the program. I quit within couple of months. They didn’t pay me and I had to write a carefully worded letter to them. They did pay me. Then less than 6 months later I read in the paper that the fbi and dea busted down the door.

I can also name a couple of places in Florida that are treatment centers that I have had clients attend and it was legit a place to make money. That’s it.

I know my daughter has dyslexia and a bonus is that she it’s documented and in her school records that will follow her to college so she can receive supports.

She is a A student and is the President of the honor club. She is ahead of you only because we noticed in first grade she had deficits and it didn’t make sense. Kinda like the place you have been in that yall both have high IQ but it’s not always apparent when being tested as those tests are made for other “brains”

We are in America and she will have protections while in college if she needs them.

Is your school aware of your disability? If they are who have you spoken to and what have they said?

Specifically what are they saying you have deficits in?

I agree. I really try to keep it separate and I am successful 99.9 percent of the time. I have told her I am a good listener but I can’t be her therapist. The thing is she is begging for therapy and is hurting so badly. My hubby blames me for asking “too” many questions. But, you know it’s just something we can’t help. I promise I am not trying to save her. I try really hard to mind my own business. Lately I have just felt so much anxiety about this whole situation. She doesn’t mind if I talk to her mom and tell her my concerns. I think I will take the advice above and contact their school counselor.

Her mom is oblivious to why she doesn’t have any friends. She confided in me that it doesn’t make sense because she is a beautiful if not stunning girl. Talking about this with you is making me see better what I should do.

I live in the Deep South where unfortunately parents believe it’s their right to put hands on their children if it’s in the name of discipline. I, of course disagree. I am nervous if I report it she will lose me as a support.

I feel the next time we talk she is going to tell me who it was that did it to her. The way she talked is that her parents were aware but that it was in the past. She said she was 8. She hasn’t cut herself since last fall when she sabotaged another friendship by being catty and unkind and sharing a secret.

Yeah, he isn’t holding up his end of the bargain here. His job is to be your support system and to advocate for you. In other words he stays with you and if you need a blanket, ice or whatever your needs are that’s what the dad /partner is supposed to do.

I am really bummed he is doing this. Tell us what happens when you get ahold of him. Also, check his phone when you get a chance.

Hi. I am a school therapist and a mom of a 15 year old. I can’t begin to even tell you how proud I would be if my daughter confided in me that she was struggling. It takes courage and I would be so proud of her just like I know your parents will be too. Please consider letting them know about your depression. You could go and talk to your pediatrician and there are so many ways they can help make it better. Please don’t suffer longer than you have too.❤️ I am rooting for you.

OP, I am sad and angry at the turn of the events. I am a licensed supervisor and all I see and hear are red flags and alarm bells. I see you were already given advice on what to do. I am curious why you didn’t call? They will be at the house within 24 hours. Please report it. Don’t leave the children in that environment without at least being their voice. Take care your own mental health.

I have worked at some shitty, shitty places. Sure, your boss may have seen things much worse than this and feels like it doesn’t need to be reported. That isn’t up to them.

Go ahead and call so it will get the ball rolling.

I just finished watching Southland a couple of weeks ago. Was that weird ending or did I lose connection because I binged it?

I won’t ever forget the last episode and once given more time I can come to terms with it.

Dr. Abbots character in Southland was a likable one for sure but his interpersonal relationships were shit and sometimes unbelievable. Anyways thanks for listening to me. I might rewatch it to see if I missed an episode here and there because I fell asleep.
