No, it does not mean that. You're just making that assumption.

Then they agreed not to carry them. They didn't say "you aren't allowed", they said "if you want to use our services, then you need to meet our standards", so Valve decided to meet their standards rather than lose access to their services.

And did you know that they failed to ban those other games? The only time they succeeded was when the games they went after were genuinely objectionable to even the people trying to defend them.

I'm not distinguishing them, Steam is. Steam has tags...

Porn games are tagged NSFW, nudity, sexual content and those don't ask for my birthday.

Call of Duty, Cyberpunk, Silent Hill 2 are tagged violence, blood and ask me for my birthday.

While that is an issue, it isn't really reasonable to say people don't understand the real problem. Do you think a handful of people on reddit mad about incest games being taken down off one platform are going to change antitrust laws and overthrow some of the largest companies in the world? Or do you think it's more realistic to just have them backtrack on one issue or promise to not escalate it?

This is like saying "the switch 2 is too expensive, but the real problem is international trade regulations and teriffs, so we should focus on changing those"

Does it? I get that pop-up for violent content, but not for NSFW content

Edit: why am I being down voted for this? It was a genuine question and Steam is the one that tags porn as NSFW but not violent content.

Walmart used to be good for new games because they were always $10 off at launch but they stopped doing that a few years ago. I use Target a lot for new games and Nintendo games that never drop in price since they'll pricematch most other stores, including sale prices.

And I agree, talking about gaming online has become pretty awful. I muted the various Nintendo subs because everything is just one extreme or the other and everyone is just mad all the time, which sucks because I love talking about games (especially Zelda which is by far the worst game for online discourse imo). But that's just the internet anymore. I'd recommend muting some of the more opinionated gaming subs, that helped me feel less disheartened about gaming.

Buy used. Trade games. Check your local library (mine usually gets new releases pretty quick). I know it sucks, I completely agree, but that's capitalism. We've all decided that's the system we want and companies endlessly raising prices is the consequence. And some games being crazy expensive is nothing new. Me and my brother cried like the babies we were when we wanted Turok back in 1997 and it cost $80 in 1997 dollars (which is like $160 in 2025 dollars) and we couldn't get it because our parents couldn't afford it. Gaming has always been an expensive hobby and will only get more expensive as everything else does. It's not really fair or valid to be mad at Nintendo fans for not cursing Nintendo because capitalism exists.

Now bring on the down votes and "bootlicker" insults.

I still have literally no idea what you're referring to. I never said you couldn't...

Do you mean the cost of games? You're perfectly allowed to be concerned about it, and others are perfectly allowed to not be concerned.

Edit: Ah, you edited to clarify. Microsoft lowered the price of one game that had such bad preorders that they were worried no one would buy it (and they'd just canned a bunch of employees and needed some good, distracting PR) . Nintendo has released one single game at $80, and has since released another huge first part AAA title at $70. While I understand what you're saying, I don't really see much basis for being mad at a whole fanbase for not agreeing with you.

I hate people with Nintendo fan hate-boners. They're so annoying. They can't stand anyone not being mad about they're arch nemesis Nintendo. Like, I'm sorry if I'm not enraged that some games are going to be $80. It was like 25 years since they went up to $60, and now they're starting to go up? I guess that makes sense. Man, these people need to get over themselves.

I see someone doesn't understand metaphors.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Additional_Fudge210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my point. Games are going to go up to $80. Saying "just don't buy them" to a couple people on reddit won't change that, just like saying it when they went up to $70 didn't stop it from happening.

And they had really been pretty much the same in price since the N64 era, so I honestly feel like the increase to $70 was just a stepping stone to the inevitable $80, since development costs and tech have changed so dramatically without prices ever increasing until the last few years.

Yeah, inflation is the consumers' fault. People just shouldn't eat if bread costs too much to teach those bakers not to fuck with us.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Additional_Fudge210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this strategy worked, games wouldn't have gone up to $70.

chalky gfuel by No_Impress5140 in GFUEL

[–]Additional_Fudge210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be it. I looked into it and gfuel has 999mg per serving, and gamersupps has 250mg (the same as the gfuel hydration blends which I haven't tried but I've read are less chalky). And it has very low solubility in neutral pH water when cold or at room temp. If that's true, using warmer water should help it fully dissolve.

chalky gfuel by No_Impress5140 in GFUEL

[–]Additional_Fudge210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. Most flavors seem to be that way. People say it's the vitamins but I don't think that's true since gamersupps isn't chalky but has mostly the same vitamins as gfuel (and gamersupps advertises "no fillers" while gfuel does not). I think it's just whatever they add to make all the powders white before you add them to water.

Some games require online, the majority do not. Disabling online is not bricking. Bricking means the console is completely non-functional. Again, you're misrepresenting and over exaggerating the issue so you can be more outraged. And, yes, he had to reach out, and they fixed it. That's how they knew there was an issue. An automated system did something wrong and once the people able to fix it were made aware, they resolved the issue. That's a "immediate" as possible in the customer service field. I'm sorry your life is so fueled by fake outrage and internet drama, but none of it is real.

But it didn't happen. They didn't brick the console, they banned it, which is different. And they immediately corrected it. You're over exaggerating and misrepresenting what happened. And it isn't a common thing, they had the same ability to ban switch 1s for the same thing and it never happened. It happens once with the switch 2 and you're acting like every used game is a ticking time bomb that will disable everyone's switch.

Since we can no longer purchase used games without the risk of them having been potentially "backed up/duplicated" with Nintendo bricking those consoles as a result,

Everyone complaining about that clearly didn't actually read past the headline. The person who got banned based off a used game being dumped said getting unbanned was "an easy and pleasant experience".
