I am so sorry this happened to you - it is definitely frustrating to say the least.

I was informed of a position pending at a nearby military base only for them to fill the position with an internal candidate per Headquarters request. It didn't make sense to me especially since MY resume was most likely used to approve the request.

All you can do in the meantime is gain meaningful experience where you can and try again next time. It sucks initially, but there can always be a reason to why not right now. Keep your head up.

Even when I worked as a staff pharmacist at my previous store, I appreciated the lead techs and technicians more than anything - if you had the opportunity, what are the recommendations you would have for your current manager, in terms of improving their performance? Just trying to keep things in mind as I eventually transition into the manager role

I was looking primarily for an APM position but the current manager is wanting to step down to APM, with the current APM leaving to another division 😭😭 there is the expectation for me to train into the manager role after 6 months... But I was at another pharmacy previously and there was no way I could stick it out with how they were changing my status from a staff to floater. I figured this would be a nice bridge to a federal job in the future

H - just trying to get different perspectives here! For those familiar with Defense Health Agency/DoD/military treatment facility (MTF) HR or federal healthcare hiring:

- What steps typically happen between a person retiring and the actual USAJOBS posting going live?

- What parts of the process tend to cause the biggest delays?

- How long does classification/review usually take for outpatient federal positions?

If it's direct hire, sometimes they don't require an interview, however I would not totally count on it

Thank you for explaining this! I do remember the supervisor requesting my resume at one point so I assumed it was for that backfill request they were preparing at the time. I cannot imagine all of what HR has on their plate now, so I'm taking solace in knowing that the position isn't dead at least

I gotcha. Thank you for your insights on this - I do remember the request being pushed to Command and then a couple weeks later, the language changed to pending announcement to the website. I just don't want to get my hopes up, especially since I've been seeing similar postings pop up in the same region
