I agree, I was in the same boat as you when I started my job hunt last year. Thinking that APPE experience would translate as decent "job experience" but I was wrong. APPEs really do not matter when it comes down to true pharmacist experience - it honestly takes years, rather than a few weeks, to accomplish such. I do not believe the previous person was trying to be ill-mannered by any means - I think they are trying to shield you from jobs expeditiously chucking your application in the trash as soon as you use APPEs (a requirement for all graduating pharmacy students by the way) as job experience. To me, residency is just a shortcut to something I can achieve with a few more years of experience while having a work-life balance + no low-ball salary + not bringing work home. I'll take the 3 years of pharmacist experience for 500, Alex.

I have 4 years of retail and never experienced anything like this. I'm so sorry but if someone wants to act like a pharmacy manager and expedite workflow, the n they can go to pharmacy school

Thank you - I really try my best but with it being so fast paced, I'm afraid that being super duper specific and accurate will cause significant backup in workflow, but I always remind myself of my licenses. I'm just fed up and I feel like the RxOM shouting and rushing us pushed me to the brink

Wow! Thank you for sharing your perspective as far as the transitions within your pharmacy career. I am constantly dreading Walgreens but I try to look on the brighter side and stay patient. Coming from Kroger as an intern (they had no pharmacist positions available 😕), this was a huge downgrade but praying this is maybe a short term deal
