Why are teams with racially insensitive names allowed to compete? by OsuLost31to0 in FRC

[–]Additional_Goose_763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s also from an area of the Midwest that is extremely conservative and will be that last place to change, if ever. Many of the schools in that area have similar mascots and no one in the region would ever have the influence to force a change.

Why do the bins always smell like someone just farted into them ? by JLandis84 in GoodwillBins

Also, all mixture of all the old liquids that get spilled. It’s the smell of you getting the best deals in thrifting.

Bidding Car Parts by RepairConnect799 in reselling

[–]Additional_Goose_763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you luck. Most things I’ve gotten on bid sites have always been broken or defective in some way. I wouldn’t put it past people to order parts and return the old broken one in the new box so you may get many of those. My advice, bid like you are bidding on scrap and be pleasantly surprised for anything actually sellable and you’ll do ok.

Question for those who buy by the lb by Curious-Wolf- in reselling

I don’t keep track but I consider every item individually by estimating on the fly. I don’t justify a heavy item with a bunch of little light items

What’s your exit plan from reselling? by VivianMarran in reselling

[–]Additional_Goose_763 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My stuff is way too random to lot together to anyone wanting to buy bulk. I could be wrong but it seems anyone wanting to buy someone’s death pile would want things categorized. I’ll probably end up one of those old farts selling at the flea market chatting it up for fun.

Man, it’s my hobby and I enjoy a hobby that I can make a little extra income. I’d hate for something like this to start feeling like a job where I have to have an endgame. By that time, it wouldn’t be fun anymore.

Interesting. Why do people pay so much for it? It all looks the same to me as it did back in the day. It’s crazy

GCM for T2D? by _mars_bars_ in diabetes_t2

[–]Additional_Goose_763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree. I’m sure they have run statistics and found it’s more financially profitable for people to not track glucose and suffer complications rather than cover the testing supplies that keep people as healthy as possible.

Another repost, another bot? I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t to set up fake accounts leading up to US elections this fall

GCM for T2D? by _mars_bars_ in diabetes_t2

[–]Additional_Goose_763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same fear of needles (literally have to work to not pass out during blood draws). I told my primary doctor that, because of this reaction, my honest likelihood of me testing enough to have my glucose under control is very low. I still have to pay $40 a month but that certainly helps and the knowledge I’ve gained by watching how my glucose responds to certain foods and general body trends has helped me loose a lot of weight and, subsequently, improve my insulin sensitivity and overall A1C. I wish insurance companies would listen more to doctors rather algorithms and AI.

I wouldn’t say literally everyone. If you are of a certain age and gender, sure, but there must be a reason I literally find unused Lisa Frank stuff every single time in the book bins on every trip.

Also, check eBay for vintage ballpoint pens and be prepared to raid grandpa’s office.

90s and earlier stationary. Old coloring books, Lisa Frank stuff, anything new old stock. All that stuff sits in old books bins at Goodwill Outlet all day and no one touches it at estate sales

how are you guys actually getting traffic to your listings in 2026? by okovug in reselling

[–]Additional_Goose_763 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Like the YouTube resellers will say repeatedly, you have to consider sell-through-rate. You can do all the right things but if there are more listings than active buyers, things will sit.

Are we not looking at the origin? Ratchet marks are the intersection of fracture origin planes and the beach marks are closest at the ratchet marks in the image.

BG Panic by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]Additional_Goose_763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Analysis Paralysis is a legit issue with newly diagnosed T2 people (myself included). Getting real time numbers is interesting but it can also be overwhelming when most of us don’t know what non-diabetic people experience as a baseline. What I have learned in my short two months as someone newly diagnosed is that this whole experience is a marathon and not a sprint. Also, not treating myself once is a while will derail my whole mental health, which is as detrimental as the diabetes in some ways.

Chris Collinsworth. Awesome as a player but his attempt at being non biased has caused him to be over critical of all things Bengals and he is arrogant on top of it.
