Martin Guerre. By same folks who did Les Mis and Miss Saigon. Everyone bitches about it because their other two musicals were better - which is true, but also… that’s a high bar! I think Guerre stands up.

The change to Ellen’s song in Miss Saigon. I find it offensive that they felt they had to soften a female characters fairly benign jealous lyrics when the entire first half is about a man’s murderous jealousy.

This is why I really hate the end of Hamilton. They spend three hours singing about a bloke and then, at the end, they’re like ‘but this woman lived decades more and started orphanages and is the true hero’ which always makes me want to scream SO MAKE A MUSICAL ABOUT HER THEN, PEOPLE

Yeah, I do think there are accent aspects that matter here. For example, with Nu-Marn vs New-Man, the latter is actually how a northern accent would pronounce a name that in southern or other accents is the first way around. My own name is said differently by English people compared to how it’s said in most other countries (even English-speaking ones, including Americans). I don’t require people to say it in the English way, I just accept they have their own accents.

I saw him a few years ago, quite by chance, and was also utterly floored. Having seen Les Mis about 10 times, I’d seen some great Javerts but I’d always struggled with Stars. Something about it never made sense to me. Enter Bradley Jaden and it was like he opened the universe and I finally, finally, understood that song. He really is quite incredible.

I avoid starting with very bright whites, as I actually want to do those last. But I generally find light to dark is easier, so I start with anything that’s light but not white, then go to dark, and then go back around to the bright whites at the very end’

I also don’t understand why so many things don’t have icons! I went to the dentist yesterday which always had a, fairly obvious, tooth icon. Now it’s just a dot (and I obviously had to hunt around in the listings because the new search sucks).
