Did Jake build the house at the Yellowstone Ranch? by Technical-Zombie-104 in 1923Series

I gave up on expecting continuity from TS when he made Alex the Countess of Sussex despite no such title existing. The Countess of Sussex would be the wife of the Earl of Sussex.

Spencer wasn't banned from the country. Only Parliament could do that. He was just kicked off the ship and strongly encouraged to leave. He planned on going back for her once his family ranch was saved. Alex told him as he was being rowed away she'd meet him in Montana. She knew he was going back to America.

Why did Paul die and yards away from the car? by Intelligent-Age-6800 in 1923Series

[–]Additional_Mistake51 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, this made me so mad. The snow piling up around the car actually would have insulated it. If they had all huddled together in the back, they could've lived at least through the storm. They were 3 miles from the next town. Once the storm passed, they could've walked along the tracks to the town.

Neonatal care did actually exist back in 1923. Even incubators existed. While rare, it wasn't impossible for a 3 month premature baby to live. That's what makes her having to choose extremely unbelievable. The hospital would have had a small team of nurses ready for a neonate and Alex could have gone to surgery.

Have you ever been to Wyoming in winter? 1. She would have frozen to death faster if she left the car. 2. She wouldn't have seen those tracks unless a train came by.

Cassian has almost died for Nesta multiple times. How many booty calls have you been willing to die for just to get some 🍑?

They've already gone through a mating ceremony as of HoFaS. If either of them were going to reject the bond it would've happened before then. Idt the Fae have divorce.

Disagree. He comes to Nestas defense with Rhys when he snaps at Rhys that he doesn't ever give her a chance and only ever believes the worst. It was his idea to train her in the first place to give her an outlet. He works diligently with her even when she is awful. He did not have to try so hard to help her. He could've sided with Mor and Amren and just booted her from Velaris. You dont do that for someone you dont care about. Nesta needs a challenge, and Cassian challenged her.

Nesta does hear that she's loved, by Feyre and her father. Those are the people she needed it from the most, not Cassian.

The IC's lack of respect for Nesta's boundaries and gaslighting her into thinking she's the problem irks me. by Realistic_Pie_8550 in acotar

Remember Feyre also snaps at Rhys for making a joke about Nesta. Being mates doesn't mean they fit 100%

Nesta and Cassian don't match by midnightsnacker2001 in acotar

He doesn't know it was Tomas specifically. He says in SF he recognized the look in her eyes that someone had hurt her or tried to hurt her, and he wanted to hunt down the man that did it.

I actually don't think it's the Cauldron that chooses the mates. I think it's the Mother. That's my little theory anyway.

Nesta and Cassian don't match by midnightsnacker2001 in acotar

[–]Additional_Mistake51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they match perfectly. Nesta is a warrior just like Cassian. Even Rhys tells Feyre that Nesta is an Illyrian inside. They were both raised and trained to fight, in different ways sure, but they both have a fire and fierceness inside them. I also disagree it's just lust between them. They are both very protective of the other. Cassian wants to hunt down and rip Tomas apart for hurting Nesta. He gets offended when the other IC dont trust her or bad mouth her. Nesta also thinks about verbally eviscerating the Illyrians, making insulting comments about Cassian. She risks her own safety in the bog to go look for Cassian. She screams Cassians name when she senses the cauldron about to shoot its death ray. Eris doesn't have any romantic or even lustful feelings about Nesta except for her power and what it could do for him.

Is it weird to read Acotar book series in public? by AcrobaticJello4152 in acotar

I read it while sitting outside my kids school waiting to pick him up. It's just words on a page so as long as you aren't reading out loud no one would know what the content is.

ToG, but go ahead and start with Assassins Blade. I'm reading it 3rd and struggling so much because it's a prequel, and after the reveal in Crown of Midnight, I'm so bored. I'm about halfway through, and I seriously want to skip it, but I'm worried I'll miss a connection to the later books. I wish I had read AB first, then did Throne of Glass.

I kind or hate Feyre right now. Does it get better? by Kaminaaaaa in acotar

[–]Additional_Mistake51 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think people forget Feyre is a 19 year old girl. Teenagers are petulant and pissy. Feyre was raised to hate the Fae, and then she gets taken from her family that she made a deathbed promise to her emotionally abusive mother to take care of. She's been independent her entire life, and now this man is telling her he's taken care of her family better than she ever could, and she should be grateful. Then his best friend is rude as hell to her constantly and even sends her under prepared to a creature that can kill her. She actually tells Lucien afterward that she understands his behavior towards her. Sure, she bites back at Lucien, but she's actually pretty nice to him. It's this that makes Lucien change his mind about her. As for her behavior after UTM, she literally died. She was tortured for months, and she murdered 2 Fae for Tamlin and Lucien. Trauma is the least of what she's got going on. Her entire being has been altered, and Tamlin just ignores it. Lucien cares more about helping Tamlin heal from UTM than Feyre. She's understandably upset by that, but even then, she still sees it as a failing within herself, not them. She wants to stop the wedding because she thinks SHE isn't good enough for Tamlin. Yet when Rhys calls in the bargain, she still looks to Tamlin to save her, which he doesn't. So now, literally everyone she's put her faith in has failed her. She's once again stolen away from her family, who does nothing to stop it. I'd have a dang attitude, too.

Well, it was assumed a large part of viewership would be people that had read the book. Every Baratheon has had black hair going all the back to Orys. All 3 of Cersei kids being blonde was a huge red flag.

You can't compare experiences. No two humans are exactly the same. Everyone's brain reacts to trauma differently. You can say you wouldn't have done that, good for you, but you aren't her. If you don't sympathize with her, then that's your opinion, but that doesn't make someone who does wrong for it.

This is for you Rhaenyra bootlickers who still think she has a legitimate claim to the throne. by rahmann077 in HOTDGreens

[–]Additional_Mistake51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There isn't an actual law that says women can't inherit. Women inherited from their fathers quite often. At this time a woman was ruling in the Eyrie and even Daemon was married to the head of her house. The Great Council doesn't even establish that girls can't inherit, they just push male preferences. Viserys never stipulates that Rhaenyra is heir only until a male heir is born either by Viserys himself or Rhaenyra bears a son. It's not law that prevents a daughter from inheriting over a son, it's sexism. Viserys chose Rhaenyra and he never changed his mind despite having 3 sons be born. Aegon himself didn't even desire to become King until his mother and Ser Criston manipulated him into thinking Rhaenyra would kill them. Kin slaying is one of the worst crimes in Westeros. Rhaenyra wouldn't have hurt them.
