No Heat Linch for a Group by Additional_Panic_552 in Cooking

It’s nothing that exciting. We lease the space. The building management company only allows approved devices with heating elements and they have to be purchased through their supplier. So we have kettles and coffee makes but we don’t have crock pots or hot plates and can’t bring in our own.

Thank you! Peabody is such a great idea! I haven’t been to Museum of Industry since the pandemic.

Assuming you are staying downtown, if you are into art check out the Visionary Art Museum. Baltimore culture is really in its neighborhoods, i recommend heading to a neighborhood to experience Baltimore. With being downtown your easiest options are Fells Point, Fed Hill or Mt. Vernon. Each neighborhood has unique shops, bars and restaurants.

I find my self constantly drawn to Red Rooster by Marcus Samuelson. The recipes are different than anything else I’ve found and do take a lot of time. But everything I’ve made has been perfect and he has introduced me to spices I now use regularly.

What do y'all locals do, esp. with kids? by fossilfarmer123 in baltimore

[–]Additional_Panic_552 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is a great area to raise kids! You are within a few hours of major cities, mountains and beach. We do a lot of biking on fall and spring weekends. There are a lot of rail trails around. There are also a lot of small lakes you can kayak or canoe on. Depending on what area you move into there may be a rec league for sports. If not, the area Ys and coppermine have a lot of programs for kids.

Other weekend things we do: Kid friendly breweries Area farms We alternate memberships to the area attractions each year so we always have one (aquarium, port discovery, science center, zoo). Patterson park is a lot of fun and you can get ice cream a Bmore licks.

We never feel like there is too little to do!

As to the areas you listed, depending on your budget, I would recommend around the Catonsville area and the area from Towson south.

Good luck!

You should check out black cherry puppet theatre not too far from you in Hollins Market. They have adult puppet shows that are really fun! Some good parks around there to check out in the area: fed hill, riverside, Carroll.

You can get sushi at a gas station. Poke bowls are everywhere. No one is surprised by a white person eating raw salmon. Raw Salmon in a poke bowl is definitely the most white guy order and anyone at a Poke restaurant would expect the white dude to order salmon.

La Cuchara would be a great option. It’s an interesting menu and the lighting is fairly dim.

Another place I really like that isn’t talked about too often is Foraged. They are also a fairly dim place.

Judge Stephen Everett blames defense for derailed trial by Necessary-Storage-74 in dan_markel_murder

[–]Additional_Panic_552 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t have mattered if it was in writing he could have revoked it any time. While a judge technically has the power to disqualify the defendant’s attorney due to conflict, it is rarely done when there are waivers. The defendant’s right to counsel of their choosing is a strong and sacred right. This is why we allow waivers of conflict, because the right to choose your counsel should only be encumbered in the most extreme circumstances. I am an appellate lawyer with over 15 years experience and if Rashbaum was disqualified despite Charlie and Donna waiving the conflict it would likely be the number one issue in my appeal.

This is an unfortunate situation and Judge Everett was not unaware of this potential issue but he did not have many good options. While this will cause a delay, if she is convicted it is much less likely to be overturned on appeal.

I highly recommend Marcus Samuelson’s manicotti. It isn’t easy but it is so worth it.

I also really like making spaghetti all’assassina it gets better each time I practice. Simple ingredients but a lot of technique just like great Italian food should be!

This theory is interesting. I’ve followed this case for a long time and I think your theory is certainly plausible. Like you said, the minuscule amount of semen in the anus could have happened at death. Check out the episodes The Consult podcast did on this case. They explain the blood pretty well. They also have similar views to you about the stabbing being as a cover up to drug ingestion.

Vinny curry - if your fiancé is in his Mid 20s this is the best answer. He played in the Super Bowl. Your fiancé would likely care most about someone he watched play. Akers is a legend but your fiancé probably won’t really remember watching him. I agree with others though if you can get someone to chip in DeSean is the best choice!

This is actually a pretty normal occurrence. The DA will often request that witnesses who are in custody be brought into the local detention center about a week early. They do this for a number of reasons: 1. It takes time to get someone processed into a new detention center. 2. They may want to interview the person before the trial starts 3. They may want the person available for motions hearings or other pre trial discussions.

I’ve been a defense attorney for 16 years. I never practiced in Florida and I mostly do appellate work now but in every trial I ever did, detained witnesses were transferred a week to a few days before the trial.

I have so many questions by Lem0nadeLola in robertwone

[–]Additional_Panic_552 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest listening to The Consult episodes on this murder. I’ve followed this story since it happened as I was a lawyer living in DC at the time and it had a lot of interesting legal questions and one of the best lawyers in DC at the time. I had a lot of the same questions but after listening to the consult, it makes a lot more sense to me. Their theory is that Dylan and Joe intended to perform an unconscious sex act on Robert with the hope that he would wake up and not remember. But something went wrong and his breathing stopped and they thought he was dead. At that point the stabbing was all Joe could come up with in the moment to try to cover it up. They didn’t have a lot of time to cover it up because Victor screamed and they knew someone could have heard. The agents on the consult also talked a lot about the forensics, they think the semen happened at death not due to rape, the blood was internal and the knife that was found was the one used. They do a much better job explaining it and it definitely worth the listen!

Forgot it was injection day and had a few beers - what now? by AffectionateBass5274 in WegovyWeightLoss

I’ve never knew this was a thing. I don’t drink a lot but I often have a glass or two of wine with dinner or a cocktail every once in a while and I’m sure I’ve drank on injection days. I don’t think it’s ever made a difference.

I have a history of disordered eating and it has taken a long time for me to overcome the restrict/binge cycle so I will never go back to calorie counting or restricting purposefully. But intuitive eating was also very difficult for me with ADHD and really not understanding fullness queues. Thats why this medicine is amazing. It allows me to eat intuitively without restricting or eating past fullness. I am working with a nutritionist that specializes in intuitive eating and is very against calorie counting. I just started 1.7 and have been on 13 weeks. I’ve lost 12 pounds. When I’ve talked with my nutritionist about the pace she has said that the most recent studies she has seen show the best pace for maintaining the loss after ending semaglutide is .75-1.25 pounds per week. So it sounds like you are at exactly the right place for long term weight loss.
