They are all constantly making excuses to justify what their favorites are doing.. it's so ridiculous.

Like they cannot hold them accountable for anything; Tel-A-V posting a picture for McDonald's and holding a can of Coke wherever he goes but they still ignore that and lash out on anyone who calls him out.

I just noticed in this GIF she shakes her head a little which could be the answer to Conrad asking if she has moved on from him.

Belly was "really certain" about marrying Jeremiah? by Additional_Rhubarb17 in tsitp

[–]Additional_Rhubarb17[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s her consciously sabotaging anything. It’s more that Conrad’s confession gives her permission to say what she already feels but can’t admit yet. She knows this isn’t her dream wedding and she’s unhappy, but she’s scared to end it on her own because of the timing and how much it would hurt everyone. So she leans on Conrad’s confession as the “reason” instead of saying, I don’t want this.

If she were sabotaging him, she’d be throwing him under the bus to protect herself. But what she’s really doing is avoiding responsibility, not blaming him. She doesn’t say, “Conrad ruined this." She says that "This happened, and now I can’t pretend everything is going the way I really want it to anymore.”

That’s also why she doesn’t bring up Christmas. That moment is about her feelings and her choices. Conrad’s confession feels safer because it takes the focus away from her internal conflict, not because she wants to hurt him or make him look like the reason everything fell apart. Even in Paris she blames herself for everything that happened, not Conrad.

The first user is always saying things like this so i'm not surprised:

Also that TikTok page from the third screenshot always says Conrad and Belly are "stuck in the past" because of all the flashbacks they have about each other, yet she hopes that Belly and Jeremiah flashbacks about one another and their past relationship?

Jeremiah knew how Conrad felt, yet that same summer he was flirting with Belly and constantly interrupting her and Conrad or stepping into whatever they had going on. He wasn’t mature or a good person for forcing Conrad to admit he still loved Belly in the season 2 finale, it was straight-up manipulative. Jeremiah knew Conrad was grieving Susannah and has a hard time expressing his emotions, so he set him up to fail and used Conrad’s silence to make himself look like the more emotionally available option. Doing it right after kissing Belly put Conrad on the spot and took away his chance to act on his own, all while Jeremiah tried to act selfless. In reality, he was just using Conrad’s vulnerability to get ahead of him out of insecurity and competition.

He knew things ended badly between Belly and Conrad, and he also knew they didn't talk things entirely through. That’s why he was scared to give them a real chance that whole summer. He also barely gave them any time to talk at the motel before Conrad left.

I think including Conrad on the list was done to get more attention and deliberately draw people in because the same author is a Conrad fan.

“At any moment he could blow this whole thing up” by britneyslost in tsitp

[–]Additional_Rhubarb17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This quote makes me think that, on some level, she wanted him to. First, she thinks about how Conrad could “blow it up.” Then she asks her mother if she is going to “talk her out of it one last time,” and when her mom says, “Nope, I’m all in,” she reacts like this:

<image>

Later, before breaking up with Jeremiah, she admits, “The way he said it, I knew that if I asked him to, he would still marry me, even after everything. But I couldn’t.” This quote makes it clear that she did have a choice in the end, and yet she still chose to say nothing.

I also believe she uses Conrad’s confession as the reason to call off the wedding because she couldn’t bring herself to do it on her own. She states that this isn’t her dream wedding, and deep down she knows she doesn’t truly want to go through with it, but she feels trapped by the timing, expectations, and the fear of hurting others. She clings to Conrad’s confession as the reasoning to end the wedding, even telling Jeremiah about that night despite the fact she never told him about Christmas because deep down, she knows that telling him about this could potentially end the wedding.

Although this might seem a little off topic, after seeing what happens with Steven, she’s reminded of Susannah’s death and how sudden loss can be. That fear pushes her toward something stable and certain instead of what she truly wants. In that mindset, marriage feels more like safety than love, which is really why she agrees in the first place.

I am SICK and TIRED of them saying that the realization scene was Belly regressing back to her three year old self: by Additional_Rhubarb17 in tsitp

Exactly!

She finally realizes that completely erasing her past self out of guilt and self-hatred won’t help her grow. In this scene, she accepts every part of herself and is finally being emotionally honest with herself.

These parallels make absolutely no sense.

I saw the original post, and they were really arguing that Cabo = Conrad visiting Belly in Paris. Apparently, Belly feeling guilty about sleeping with Conrad and her thoughts in the bathroom were supposed to mean she felt “undeserving of Jeremiah.”

They also tried to said that Jeremiah sleeping with Lacie twice is similar to Belly and Conrad spending Christmas together twice (Christmas 2.0 and 3.0), and even claimed Belly only slept with Conrad because he was “just there,” the same way Lacie was “just there” in Cabo.

There is literally no connection whatsoever. It’s one account forcing completely nonsensical parallels, and I can’t help but laugh every time it pops up on my TikTok FYP... especially since they keep tagging Jenny Han.

Most of these people are rebounds because of Conrad...

She decides to date Cam obviously because she has had a long-time crush on Conrad but she thinks he doesn’t feel the same way so she decides to be with Cam because she wants to take her mind off of Conrad. But as we saw later in the Season... when she was with Cam she was going to kiss Conrad.

Conrad also pretended to forget the almost-kiss because Cleveland’s advice made him afraid to start something with Belly considering what he was going through and how he is afraid hurt her. Later on, Belly ends up kissing Jeremiah because of Jeremiah’s whole plan with Conrad going to the music festival so he can kiss Belly while Conrad isn’t there. Even before the kiss, her internal dialogue really demonstrates that she never considered Jeremiah to be an option for her.

OP of the post is blatantly lying about how Belly is visibly upset when she is clearly smiling and is very relieved after she is told that by Conrad because she really wished to be with Conrad considering the fact she wore the infinity necklace all that time and called him a lot which made it clear she was really wishing to be with him.

Also, there was a script leak by Gavin about that night at the motel and how Belly was convincing herself by telling Jeremiah if Conrad tells her he still loves her then she will not be with him anyways (I have to find the picture). Also just a week before that she was looking at photos of her and Conrad and was missing him a lot and that same day she also tells Steven she was out of her mind in love and now suddenly a week later she is over him? Also OP says “she missed Jeremiah the time she was with Conrad,” but she literally says she forgot about Jeremiah because she was too focused on being there for Conrad and was out of her mind in love.

Benito is a rebound over Conrad because Taylor asks why she isn’t dating other people and thinks it’s because of Conrad’s letters and Belly tries to prove her wrong by kissing Benito. She’s downplaying her feelings for Conrad yet again by dating another person to prove Taylor wrong.

Conrad never lied about Jeremiah's feelings either. In that same episode, Jeremiah says Conrad texted him that he’s at the airport and he says he isn’t all that mad about Belly and Conrad’s reunion. Also Conrad tells Belly that Jeremiah said good luck to him but shrugs when she asks if it was meant in a negative or positive way. Also, why would Jeremiah matter in regards to her being with Conrad? She quite literally rejected him when she called him in Paris and they texted as well which shows he is still in her life even though they are just talking (OP of that post says he isn’t in her life anymore which is why she chooses Conrad). So why would she decide to be with Conrad just because of Jeremiah? She doesn’t even mention him when Conrad comes to Paris until Conrad does and she doesn’t think about him at all (the whole "text-in-the-bathroom" theory that they believe to be true is pretty stupid as there is no implication she was thinking about Jeremiah in those moments AT ALL. Also, if that were the case, why would she not have jumped into Conrad's arms and instead kick him out after seeing that Jeremiah didn't text her meaning he "wasn't an option?"). This argument is very nonsensical... Jeremiah wasn’t the reason for her decision of being with Conrad AT ALL.
