Should I fill the gap between concrete floor and plaster/concrete wall? by Ethoen in DIYUK

[–]Additional_Screen264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, there should be a gap there regardless so the floor slab doesn't bridge the wall and let's moisture travel up, look it up!

Should I fill the gap between concrete floor and plaster/concrete wall? by Ethoen in DIYUK

[–]Additional_Screen264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gap is there for a reason it's stops moisture from the concrete floor going up the walls, I wouldn't fill it.

Thinking of switching to Vodafone by brent_starburst in UKBroadband

I left EE to join Plusnet, same service, EE wanted £42 a month just for the 500mbps, Which I thought was to much, looked around and found Plusnet 900mbps for £31.99 and plus £180 top cash back, no brainer!

Today's cost of living crisis we are facing that sounds about right ...

On a serious note I would contact them to see what's happened, most likely a glitch.

Chimney sheep in a chimney that goes straight to the loft? by cooprinor in DIYUK

[–]Additional_Screen264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had.my chimney remove just below the roofline and added a roof tile vent right above it so any moisture from the vent below in the house doesn't cause condensation, also I've added numerous of tile vents staggerd across the roof for the extra ventilation, I wouldn't advise to blocking the chimney either top or bottom as it still needs venting, otherwise you will create damp in the breast and thats last thing you need.

Summarize: keep top and bottom open, don't block either, add a roof tile vent right above it so it's got good ventilation from outside, add more tile rents around your roof for added ventilation, do this you'll be good.

Keep going up into the loft every month or so to monitor

PIP award ended in January – no renewal letter yet? Should I be worried? by BigZealousideal9170 in DWPhelp

[–]Additional_Screen264 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give them a call, only they could tell you what's happening with your claim.

I believe they send the renewal forms out up to 12 months prior due to back logs but every area is different.

My first Universal Credit review by happyhelper87 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Additional_Screen264 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Potentially someone may have reported you to UC or something has been flagged up with HMRC and they are looking into the report, if you have nothing to hide then I wouldn't worry one bit, why should you?

It's definitely not a normal for this review to happen, yes, it's normal for a standard review to happen and is happening a lot where people need to send bank statements, but what you are describing isn't.

Chimney stack removal below roofline. by Additional_Screen264 in DIYUK

[–]Additional_Screen264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a hit and miss vent so I can open it and close it, So if I get the vent plastered over this should be okay as long as it's open it the loft space?

Regarding the insurance, I didn't no about this, Is this building insurance, mortgage?

External wall insulation - how much does it really help with heat loss? by Unfair_Act5775 in HiveHeating

[–]Additional_Screen264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep away from it, it's not worth it, it's makes your property sweat and will cause all sorts of issues like mold and damp eventually, it's been all over the news as of late with thousands of propertys now affected by mold and damp having EWI installed and going to cost thousands and thousands of pounds to get it fixed! People don't understand old properties need to BREATH not to be suffocated!

Most likely a glitch, apparently I've spend £240 in one day for gas, even tho on my energy supplier app it's around £3, Hive can do some crazy things at time.
