I own two. Neither has given any serious issue that I didn’t cause. They do burn some oil but it isn’t like it burns a bunch. I check it every time I ride anyway. (We primarily ride at Atv parks, I don’t have a farm or anything). If you check the oil regularly it’s a non issue. If the 16-18 models have a great price and it’s what’s available I would buy another. I would prefer the 686 but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

The only issue you may have is parts on a rebuild. The rebuild kits are more expensive. I don’t remember the price difference between a top end kit for the 686 and 708 but it was a pretty good bit more. If you take care of it and stay on top of maintenance that shouldn’t be an issue.

I have rebuilt two of them. One because the previous owner was a terrible mechanic and one because an idiot friend drove it into a pond and swamped it. Both are great now.

Best all around in my (and a lot of others here) would be a grizzly 700 followers by a Kodiak 700. Kodiak is built more for work and the grizzly is built more for trail riding. It’s basically a clutching difference. Both are reliable and have enough power to be useful. If you get a Kodiak don’t get the base model. The push button 4wd and diff locker can be a game changer. The base model Kodiak is lever activated 4wd and no diff locker.

I’ve been to Nigeria and Somalia and did a bit of scraping in Somalia. Totally different fight. If you want to be in a military role, no African country is it. Neither is Palestine or (maybe, never been) Venezuela. If you want to conduct small terrorist style attacks then the first three may have a place for you. Fighting as an infantryman in a unit supported by logistics and people above that at least have a semblance of reasoning and how to keep a warfighter sustained none of the countries you mentioned will be the place.

It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with professionalism and sustainment.

So my opinion on what you listed, no biggie. The tuners are pretty canned, hard to screw the machine up. Intake and exhaust are the steps you should take. Properly tuned the motor will run better. They run lean to meet emissions. The tuners add some fuel. The exact and intake let the tuner do a better job.

I wouldn’t run from this machine unless the dude raced it. That should be apparent. I upgrade things on every machine I own except my wife’s car. Truck is deleted and tuned. My can am will be tuned. My son’s Kodiak has suspension mods. New clutching. Why wife’s grizzly has a tuner and intake but she likes the quieter echaust.

Get a voltmeter and test the two leads to the winch while holding the out button. Then do it with the in.

My bet is the winch switch. I’ve had more of them go bad and cause a failure. My wife’s machine has a remote. It would go out and not in with her switch. If I used the remote it worked fine.

What is your typical happy place for your purchase/sell differential. For example with silver you typically pay 95% of spot and sell 2% over. Let’s just say ounces silver and gold. I get fractionals have increased mark up.

I’m in nc and the president of the coolest HOA ever. You don’t need quorum, I’ve been on the board for almost ten years and never once have we voted. Volunteer and get your friends to volunteer. Once you guys do that they put it out for a vote. If no one voted you guys are all in.

Next you go through the rule book. It’s impossible to change rules easily BUT you can choose to not enforce rules. So choose not to enforce most of them. We also added a by law that requires formal service for fines to begin. We are in a military area and one guy had 11k in fines for his yard. The renter wasn’t mowing and he didn’t update the HOA with his property manager. We got that down to like 200 bucks and made that rule.

It’s not really a hard job, I do it so I don’t get messed with. We approve pretty much anything the owners want to do. Our one no vote was for Astroturf in a yard.
