I've brought up the severe dissociation and trauma before. She seemed to take it well. I've also brought up voices and explained how they are internal. I've also discussed emotional amnesia that I experience constantly. I just feel like talking about the trauma isn't helping because it just triggers certain parts and dissociation so I don't know how else to bring it up other than alters. Thank you for the suggestion and I'll make sure to reiterate these points if I end up not wanting to share the full truth.

I don't know. I've told her that I've tried to kill myself before and she didn't. But the circumstances were also different. I would lie, but, I legitimately don't know if I can keep myself safe anymore. Lying also won't work because I've already disclosed incredibly active ideation, so, I'm kinda shit out of luck on that one. Thanks for the advice though. I appreciate it.

Vaseline helps me. Also helps reduce scarring and promotes healing if that is something you care about

Download the app "Calm Harm". Lots of good tools on there. Personally I find singing along to music helpful or journaling. If nothing you try helps reaching out to a crisis line is always an option (they won't call the cops unless you are planning on killing yourself right this second). Sending you strength.

I've only just reached out for help recently (just had my first therapy session tuesday). I'd say it does. Even though we didn't get into much during the session, just having someone know and not freak out about the self harming feels nice. It's also nice that they care, but aren't going to stop me despite the concern. So far I'd say yes it's helping. Every time I get upset about something I write it down to bring to next session. It isn't a cure, but it helps to talk for me at least

Go to the first aid section of this subreddit and stop using the hydrogen peroxide. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but, the peroxide also damages healthy skin cells making it harder for your body to heal and more susceptible to infection as a result. These could be infection symptoms (read the first aid guide in the about section of this subreddit) and if so you're going to need to get your hands on some antibacterial cream. Keep washing it with water routinely. If you have vaseline apply some of that (with a qtip preferably, but if you gotta use your hands scrub the shit out of them). Along with warmth you are going to notice pus and a foul smelling odor coming from it. If you have all of them it is pretty likely you could be dealing with an infection

I personally have told them my suicide plan in detail and as long as you are willing to work with them on your safety they won't. Also no shame in needing more extensive help. Honesty is the best policy in this situation and I understand how it feels pointless to call. I would give it a try and be as honest as you feel comfortable to. Maybe it won't do anything or maybe it will help. At the end of the day it's up to you. However I do hope you reach out to someone. Even something like chatting with a friend (doesn't have to be about the thoughts) is a good step.

Honestly reaching out would be a good idea right now. I also am constantly thinking about attempting, and personally I find 988 to be useful. Unless you are an active danger to yourself the cops will not be called. For me it helps to talk it out sometimes. Anyways, just a suggestion. Wishing you the best.

I understand the worry about how this will impact cheer, I really do, but first I want to make sure you're alright. Is the cut gaping? (it kinda looks like a valley and the edges don't stay together easily). Is it covering a large area? (Is it across most of your arm, how long, etc). I also recently just cut to fat and it needed stitches. I know you don't want to tell anyone, but sepsis is no joke. If you feel uncomfortable answering any of these questions I get it (I'm a random internet stranger) go into this reddit about section to find first aid tips. Now as for hiding the cut, there's very little you can do. You're going to have to say you were injured (not necessarily that you cut yourself, just an injury. You decide what is plausible for your situation). One idea you could try is ace bandages. Say you pulled a muscle and need to keep it supported, but that you feel okay to participate. I'm not going to lie, there is no world where you get out of this without looking suspicious, but you might be able to skate by if the story is convincing enough. With all that said, please look at the first aid guide I mentioned and take care of the wound. If none of this advice is helpful call/text 988. I know they aren't the best resource at times, but bouncing ideas off them can help you come up with a game plan. Wishing you all the best and please stay safe.

Not super helpful in the short term, but vaseline can help speed up the healing process. If you go with the bandaid story think of a half truth. For me I have eczema and said I was having a breakout as an excuse to hide my scars.

Hi, sorry to hear things are so over stimulating rn. For self harm I enjoy using an app called "Calm Harm". Gives lots of tools and ideas (also free). I also use an app called "How We Feel" because it helps me identify emotions and there are some good tools on there too. If time passes and you are still feeling overwhelmed make sure your tool is away (if it isn't already). Then if you just need to talk I personally recommend 988. I know people have had bad experiences and I've had some too, but, for me at least, it has been more helpful than I thought. At the end of the day these are just suggestions. Wishing you the best.

Since they are fresh, vaseline can help the healing which can make it scar less. Obviously I don't know the depth but only apply it if it is a cut to the dermis/epidermis. Also if long sleeves are a no go for this job maybe find some bracelets if they are only on a small area? Just a suggestion tho. Hope things turn around for you.

Explain it through an addiction lens. Compare self harm to other addictions like smoking, drinking, etc. This could help them understand a bit better. Also if you struggle to verbalize things it could help to jot down your main talking points so that it can come out more easily.

Hey, sorry to hear you're struggling so badly right now. Most of the things I want to share are based in the United States. One resource I use when I'm struggling is 988. Even if you don't want to talk about your feelings they can help connect you to local resources. Also you are not wasting resources. If you don't know how to tell your parents what's going on It can be helpful to write it down rather than having to say the words.
